Yep; thanks for sending this, Bill. Let us not forget "How do I make it right?"

Here's the original lecture at CMU, from last September. I sent this to a large
list as soon as I stumbled across it last month; it's enough to make a confirmed
Eeyore sit up and take notice, if not salute. I strongly urge everyone to devote
an hour-plus to this.

Randy Pausch keeps a blog detailing his battle---what he calls his "adventure."
Sadly, the last entry is a bit foreboding. He left a hospital bed to testify
before Congress two weeks ago on the need for more funding and research on
pancreatic cancer, the deadliest form of cancer there is.

Here's the blog: http://download.srv.cs.cmu.edu/~pausch/news/

Randy is widely described as a 'pioneer' in the field of Virtual Reality.
Imagine this guy watching the first moon walk at age 8.5....

At this link is a video that all should see: Randy Pausch reprising his "Last
Lecture". http://video. stumbleupon. com/?s=ithct48cq w&i=ufcchmyxqsuj 9vwsemax

This includes:

Dreams (in the sense of long range goals).
Be humble. Have fun.

Live with personal integrity.
Work and play well with others.
Consider People vs Things.

Simple advice that is hard to follow:
Tell the truth;
When you make a mistake, apologize properly;
If you wait long enough, people will show their good side.

Show gratitude.
Better than complaining, is working harder.

From me, on a ♫ personal note ♪ to you, the members of our Hackettstown
Chess Club:
Thank you for each for being a good example; and for making the world a better
place for all of us.
