The following decisions were voted on and approved
at the Dec. 27th meeting of the Hackettstown Chess Club:

1) Reverse the order of the Fall Team Tournament and the Fall Quads
Tournament.
Vote 6 to 0.

2) In the Fall Team Tournament, as far as is feasible,
set up the schedule so as each player plays EVERY player on opposing
teams.
Vote 8 to 1.

3) For prizes, split Equiv money among all players in a tie as long as
the number of winners does not exceed the usual approx 40%.
Vote 6 to 2.

4) In the Summer Holland Preliminaries, modify the 5th (last) round pairings
so that those players in contention to qualify for the Championship
Finals
will have higher rated players playing lower rated players, but move
ONLY
within a Half Point Score difference. Include this in C L & R Ad.
Vote 6 to 2.

5) To determine if a player who drops out of a Round Robin type tournament
will have to be voted back in the Club before playing in another
Round Robin type tournament, a Committee of Three Players are
to be appointed by the Director to make that decision.
Vote 8 to 0. Mike, Bill, Angelo appointed. Eric appointed as an
alternate if needed.

6) The Second Time Control (and all additional) will now be 40/60 instead of
30/60.
Vote 7 to 2.

7) A Sudden Death Time Control can be substituted for the 40/60 of item 6)
providing both players VOLUNTARY agree, and a special 5-second clock is
available
"a delay-capable digital clock set to a five-second delay."
Include this in C L & R Ad, but THE DIRECTOR WILL NOT GET INVOLVED.
Vote 7 to 1.

I should point out that the turn-out for the meeting was not that big.
But everyone should realize that in a Democratic Society,
if one does not vote and does not like the results of an election,
he or she should buy a flexible leg boot so as to be able
to kick ones' self in the REAR END.

Harold
