This is just a gentle reminder for folks who will be playing Quorum at
ConCarolinas to not post any spoilers, as there will still be folks who haven't
played it.

Thank you.

I was looking for a third person for my room. Right now its me and
another person. You'd only pay a third of the room.

John,

I am looking for someone to split the travel and lodging cost. I have not
booked a room yet - don't know if they're even available. Also, I will
likely return first thing Sunday morning, as I have obligations here Sunday
afternoon.

Interested?

CatchupCon is the premiere event in this area of the southeast every
December. It's the last chance for us to play those last few games
that we just haven't been able to get anywhere else. Catchup 2008 is
going to be a mix of Living Forgotten Realms and Living Greyhawk.

Living Forgotten Realms
The first set of mods for LFR has been announced. This con will offer
them all, assuming that they're available for play.

Living Greyhawk
We will offer all of the Gran March year sevens and year eights (in
order), as well as all of the Core year eights, and a selection of
Sheldomar mods.

Here is a complete listing of scenarios running at the con.
http://www.warhorn.net/catchupcon2008/scenario/list.php

Here is the grid of slots and scenarios.

Milwaukee Summer Revel is coming to the Tommy Thompson Youth Center
in West Allis Wisconsin on June 5th to the 8th; brought to you by
Cold Iron Conventions (CIC). This June weekend is going to be packed
full of hot Highfolk action as we celebrate the end of Living
Greyhawk, preview Living D&D 4e and Forgotten Realms, and celebrate
D&D World Game Day! We will have the following events... (although
space is filling already up, pre-register today!)

Three Premier HIGHFOLK regional events:
– Coming Through the Rye by (HIG8-04) by Rick Brown: A fortress in
the Vesve holds a secret that must be unchained to help the forest.
Moving toward the light is usually the best move—if you can find it.
A one-round Highfolk Regional adventure set in the Vesve for
character levels 1-15 (APLs 4-12). Part Three of the Harvesting
Awareness Series.

– Thicker Than Water? (HIG8-05) by Todd Ammerman: The Watcher has
been doing just that for decades, measuring the degree to which the
opposition has pushed the Balance, and waiting until he felt the time
was right to act. Unfortunately, acting now requires an unholy
alliance with the very beings the past generation of heroes had
worked so hard to expunge. Simultaneously, an alliance of an entirely
different sort could provide new hope from an unexpected direction.
Part 2 of the Waits and Measures series (loose sequel to HIG6-03
Heavy Upon a Heart). A one-round Highfolk Regional adventure set in
the Highvale and beyond for character levels 1-15 (APLs 4-12).

–Dawn (HIG8-06) by Greg Marks: All things must end. The Dawn rises.
Part four of The Coming Dawn and the finale of all things Highfolk.
An adventure recommended for characters level 3-13 (APLs 4-12).

An Original HIGHFOLK Interactive, a new HIGHFOLK Special, and other
unique Highfolk events:
– Interactive - Apotheosis (HIG8-i02) by Gary Affeldt, Todd Ammerman,
& Greg Marks: The moment is at hand where the fate of the Vesve
Forest and Highfolk itself weighs in the balance. On one side are the
Green and White; on the other is the Dawn. All the trials and
tribulations of the last several years have boiled down to this. Let
the battle begin! A two-round Highfolk Regional interactive set in
Highfolk and the Vesve Forest for character levels 1-15 (APLs 2-12).
Please note that this interactive will last for roughly one and a
half slots on Sunday (we hope to finish by 3 PM). When registering
for this interactive online, a space has been provided for you to
request anything you would like to see happen or plot point wrapped
up during the interactive. No other players will see this information
and your responses will be collated and reviewed when writing this
last ever Highfolk interactive.

– Special - Enchantment Under the Sea (HIG8-S02) by Andrew Pagel &
Paul Niederer: The call goes out for a pre-emptive strike against the
Dawn. Will you offer your life in an attempt to strike first? A one-
round Highfolk Regional adventure set in Highfolk for APLs 4-12.

– Highfolk Introductory Modules: We will have eight intro modules
other available for play in every slot based on demand. Start a new
PC and play some intro modules!

Other Core and Regional Living Greyhawk replay events:
– To A Dead Queen's Court (HIG8-01) by Gary Affeldt: At the behest of
the Dread Mistress, the PCs travel to a faraway place seeking the
help of an unlikely ally in combating the rising Dawn. A one-round
Highfolk Regional adventure set in Astral Plane for APLs 2-12
(character levels 1-15). The finale to the "Don't Run With Sickles"
series (HIG6-06 First Come the Running and HIG7-03 Lost in the Dark).

– Intertwined (HIG8-02) by Toni Brill & Jeremy Vosberg: Three years
ago, the paths of many diverged in various directions, changing past
and future relationships forever. Now, the theft of several precious
relics will reveal how intertwined those relationships were, and
still are, as the heroes of the Vesve are asked to recover the stolen
items. A one-round Highfolk Regional adventure set in the Vesve
Forest and its environs for APLs 4-12.

–Lies of Iron (HIG8-03) by Greg Marks: The spider sits at the center
of things on her web of iron. The faintest tremors at the corner of
her web have long since caught her attention, but still she waits.
Foolishly the prey ventures closer, timid at first and then more
daring until it is caught. Only now as it struggles does she reveal
herself, girded for war, in lies of iron. A one-round Highfolk
Regional adventure set in the Vesve for character levels 1-15 (APLs 4-
12).

– Bridge Over Svartjet (COR8-04) by Jeffery A. Dobberpuhl: Deep below
the western mountains ancient evils once defeated stir from the pyre
of their defeat. A one-round core adventure set in the Kingdom of
Sterich for characters level 7-15 (APLs 8-14).

– Pyre of the Righteous (COR8-05) by Theron Martin: Adventurers have
thwarted Rary on most fronts in his quest to unmake the Scorpion
Crown, but that has only irritated the former Circle member and
forced him into more direct action. Some may soon learn that
continuing to defy one of the most powerful wizards on Oerth comes at
a hefty price. A one-round core adventure set in Hardby and the Abbor-
Alz Hills for characters level 4-15 (APLs 6-14) who know where their
Rary/Karistyne loyalties lie. Part one of Rise of the Ancients and a
sequel to Blight on Bright Sands.

– Dedications (COR8-06) by Britt Frey: Old Wicked has set in motion a
plot years in the making and two of the most powerful wizards on
Oerth, once allies, seem to stand on different sides. You must choose
between them; pray that you are correct. Part two of Ascension, the
final core plot arc for the Living Greyhawk campaign. Part four and
the conclusion of Idylls of Tysiln, a Sheldomar Valley plot arc. A
two-round core adventure of investigation, danger, and wheels within
wheels. Set in the Free City of Greyhawk, the Valley of the Mage, and
realms beyond for character levels 6 – 15 (APLs 8 to 16.)

– All Year Seven and Eight Highfolk Regionals and Iuz Meta-regionals
will be available for play. Find a table and we'll make it happen.

PLENTY of other great LIVING ARCANIS, WITCHHUNTER, D&D CHAMPIONSHIP
and other games, including:
– D&D Championship Replay: CCQ1-4 Liberation by Tim Sech: The empire
has set up 'Re-Education' camps to allow the citizens of Aeris a
chance to see that the Imperial morality is right and just. However
while some people succumb to Imperial rule and try to make due,
others fight. Often those that fight back are taken quietly in the
night never to be seen again. The resistance needs them back if they
are to retake what they have lost. This is a Classic-style event with
characters provided and is a qualifier for the D&D Championship at
Gen Con Indy 2008. The D&D Championship Series uses 5 player tables.

– 4E01 Escape from Sembia by Chris Tulach: You weren't looking for
trouble in civilized lands… just some good adventuring leads. Before
you knew what was really happening, you wound up in the middle of an
information exchange, and now you have to escape from the lands of
Sembia to preserve your very lives! Off the beaten path to shake any
pursuers, you take to the wilds in the hope that you'll reach a safe
haven before you're captured. 1st-level characters are provided. A
D&D 4th Edition and Living Forgotten Realms preview adventure.
Characters will be provided.

– 4E02 Scalegloom Hall by Mike Mearls The vicious kobolds are at it
again, raiding caravans, plundering outlying farms, and raising havoc
across the land. All signs point to the influence of a charismatic
leader, a malevolent fiend that has stepped up the kobolds'
aggression and turned them into a menace. Your task is simple: enter
the trap-filled tunnels of Scalegloom Hall, find their leader, and
defeat him. 1st-level characters are provided. A D&D 4th Edition and
Living Forgotten Realms preview adventure. Characters will be
provided.

– D&D Gameday Event: Come celebrate this D&D World Game Day event as
part of MSR! You will receive the same prizes and benefits as if you
had participated in this event at your local store!

– Witchhunter Replays: We will have all available Witchhunter
adventures from 1 to 11 ready for play. Missed one? We'll have it!

– LA-HP5-01 Shattering the Light by Henry Lopez and James Zwiers:
Scattered to the four winds, and disarrayed, the light is no longer
there to guide and shield man from the darkness of the times. This is
an outdoors, investigative adventure, that also involves a modicum of
combat. As such, players are advised to be prepared for any number of
eventualities. This Living Arcanis Hard Point adventure is designed
for characters of 7th to 21st level (APLs 7-21). Characters above
21st level may not be played in this adventure.

– Living Arcanis Replays: We will have most of the available LA and
IK modules available for play. Don't miss out on any of the Arcanis
goodness!

GRM8-04 Deceit:
Lies are the stock in trade of those living in the underbelly of Gran March.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to put paid to one of the
biggest deceivers in Gran March history. When surrounded by guile, can you find
the truth? A Gran March Regional adventure for APLs 2-16 and Part 11 of the
Homefront series.
Note: This adventure will be of particular interest to members of the Gran
March military, the Knights of the Watch, and an organization whose very
existence is a matter of debate.

GRM8-05 Quorum:
With threats of armies north and south, individual Knight Colonels making
individual decisions and much of the Battle Seasoned troops still outside the
nation, the times demand one leader and Gran March does not have one. The call
to elect a new Commandant has come. Can enough of the Electors make it to
Hookhill in order to elect the needed leader or will Chaos reign. This is a
dangerous continuous Two-Round Gran March Regional adventure for APLs 4-16, and
the Finale for the Gran March region. This game contains spoilers for GRM 7-2
Gullet, GRM 7-3 Who Sleeps Upon Your Bed, GRM 8-1 Consequences, GRM 8-IN1
Vanguard, GRM 8-2 Pest Control and GRM 8-4 Deceit. While some of these spoilers
are minor, GRM 7-2 and GRM 8-2 should definitely be played before this game.
Parties having a character who possesses or is bonded to Hellbreaker could have
an advantage. All other year 8 games take place before this game in the timeline
Note: This adventure will be of particular interest to characters who are
concerned with the fate of Gran March and/or who would prefer that Keoland not
choose the next Commandant, plus those bonded to or possessing Hellbreaker.

Also appearing is the annual Gran March/Sheldomar Valley "Free-For-All" wherein
all of the year 7 modules are avaialble. You bring a table, we'll bring a

Odd that you mention this.

Now that Ket has been taken, no doubt the 5000 men of the Keoland Army that
helped in that war are making their way back home. Gran March is
technically between Bissel and Keoland.

Actually in the interlude it was only one candidate for Commandant that has
expressed that desire. Still if one of his aliases was to take the post,
you might be needed for your loyalist faction. In that case the Commandant
would lead the rebellion and command his armies, both the armies of men and
the other.

------------------------------------------------

The blurb for GRM 8-5 Quorum, premiering at ConCarolinas currently says:

With threats of armies north and south, individual Knight Colonels making
individual decisions and much of the Battle Seasoned troops still outside
the nation, the times demand one leader and Gran March does not have one.
The call to elect a new Commandant has come, with the formal resignation of
the last. Can enough of the Electors make it to Hookhill in order to elect
the needed leader or will Chaos reign. This is a continuous Two-Round Gran
March Regional adventure for APLs 4-16, and the Finale for the Gran March
region. This game contains spoilers for GRM 7-2 "Gullet", GRM 7-3 "Who
Sleeps Upon Your Bed," GRM 8-1 "Consequences," GRM 8-IN1 "Vanguard," GRM 8-2
"Pest Control" and GRM 8-4 "Deceit." While some of these spoilers are
minor, GRM 8-2 should definitely be played before this game. Parties having
a character who possesses or is bonded to Hellbreaker could have an
advantage. All other year 8 games take place before this game in the
timeline.

Note: This adventure will be of particular interest to characters who are
concerned with the fate of Gran March and/or who would prefer that Keoland
not choose the next Commandant.

This post is to find out if the Gran March is actually intending to
secede from the Empire or if that was just being considered.
Personally, I'm against splitting from the Empire, but they may have
their reasons. Is there a link for the whole story?
If the Gran March is splitting from the Empire, who else might be
interested in forming a loyalist contingent to put down the rebellion
(which would basically mean most of the military would be against us
and the Keoish reinforcements would probably be too late to help us)?
One could assume that those more loyal to the Commandant would join the
loyalists and those more loyal to the military would join the
seperatists?

Kristi,
The folks at the hotel are... well I have nothing nice to say about them.

I've been on the phone with them today. Theoretically, they have a
block of rooms for about $63 a night. They're booked under
"Grayhawk". I know... but they actually had the nerve to correct my
spelling, so I let it lie - that was just easier. However, the group
name is actually "**Grayhawk" in the computer. The front desk can't
find it in the machine because of the asterisks, and they can't change
it. You may have to tell whatever mouthbreather is working the front
desk to actually type in an asterisk or two...

If you have problems, ask for Walter White, he's the manager.

Paige

There were four or five (I'm not sure I counted playtest tables)
Signs of Trilesimain given out at EconoCon.

If those players whose characters at EconoCon gave up their life
(permanently) for the defense of Gran March would contact me at
grimnim (at) yahoo (dot) com I would like to speak with you.

I understand that most of the recipients are not from Gran March
(their characters mostly were from allied militaries), so if you know
of people who received the honor, if you could forward them this
message I would appreciate it. Their sacrifice and award will appear
in game. assuming I get the information by deadline.

Thanks for your help.

P.S. For those interested, and to be cryptic to avoid more spoilers,
the signs did win the day, critically.

I think the best moment of the con was when the power went out.

12 tables, 70-odd people? A few shouts about half-speed movement and miss
chances, but not a single pause in the gaming... everyone just whipped out
cell phones and PDA's, shone the light on the battle mat, and kept on
gaming!

When the power was still out ten minutes later, a few of us hauled in the
emergency lights from our cars, some of us with the crank variety happily
cranking along to keep the battles lit...

When the power was still out twenty minutes later, we dragged the tables
out into the hall to make use of daylight coming in the windows. A few
tables talked hotel folks into candles for light. We got the hotel folks
to bring us batteries so we didn't have to crank anymore.

An hour later? The executives from the meeting next door are still
whining, and we're happily looting corpses. Gamers rule!

In Hammerfall, there is an opportunity (for some) to join the
Baronial Pride of Barony Hammer. There has been a question on
whether members of elite organizations could take advantage of that
opportunity. The triad has discussed this matter and have formed the
following as a result:

Military elite organization members may join the Baronial Pride of
Baroness Hammer and remain members of those elite organizations.
This is not a lot different that the temporary posting that was
allowed for Sterich in the past, The in-character representation of
this is:

"The Barony Hammer is far remote from the rest of Gran
March, members of the Elite organizations
(Moutaineers, Pathfinders, Couriers and River Guard)
are allowed to join her Baronial Pride for the first
year, with their status reviewed by the Commandant
after that time."

Persons who received the AR invitation to join the Baroness Hammer's
Baronial Pride should contact the Miltiary POC if they wish their
character to take this opportunity.

Note the critical event period for Hammerfall comes to a close at the
end of this month.
