Sanity check... I've got YeoGACon on my calendar for April 25-27th.
However, currently on Warhorn, it is listed as May 16-18. Did it
change, or is my April calendar entry the result of computing while
impaired?

Hey all: Afer much finger crossing, and emailing I have the Rpga mods
for StellarCon.
They are as follows

Cores
CORS8-01 Whispers of the Obsidian Citadel
People, objects, and even places seem to be shifting in and out of
existence in the Yatil's west of the great city of Mitrik. Chaos
seems to be unravelling existence itself and it's spreading. Seers
speak of the `Door to Perdition' but even the gods themselves seem to
be silent on exactly what is happening. Great things are afoot and
while nations focus their attention on each other it is up to heroes
to find out what is going on before it's too late and all of Oerth
burns in the fires perdition forever. This adventure is the first
part of the "Ascension" plot arc and also concludes the "For the
Greater Good" series. This adventure is EXTREMELY dangerous and
should not be undertaken lightly. True heroes are forged in the
glowing hot coals of struggle and true heroes it will take to win
through this day. A two-round core special adventure set in Veluna
and and the Yatil Mountains for characters levels 5-15 (APLs 6-14).

CORS7-02 Rise of the Spider Queen
CORS6-02 Pits of Azak-Zil(upon request)
COR7-15 Taking Flight
COR7-16 Divided We Stand
COR7-17 Rivalry and Treachery
COR7-18 Into the Mist
COR7-19 Wrath of the Slave Lords
COR7-20 Murder in the River Quarter

COR8-01 Machinations (Living Greyhawk - D&D)
The wealth and glamour of the Gem of the Flanaess mask a fierce power
struggle among Greyhawk's ruthless elite. Factions plot against each
other beneath a veneer of civility where even indirect details can
trip up the most careful of schemers. Those who ask questions will
learn too much, but in Greyhawk, innocence is not a defense and
ignorance is never bliss. Parties skilled in stealth or guile will
flourish. A one-round core adventure set in the Free City of Greyhawk
for characters levels 1-15 (APLs 2-12) and the first intrigue
of "Honor Among Thieves

COR8-02 Raiders of the Chaos Fields (Living Greyhawk - D&D)
Description Turrosh Mak, despot of the Orcish Empire of the Pomarj,
wants peace. Is this some new stratagem on the wily half-orc's part
or is his offer genuine? A period of relative peace along Greyhawk's
buffer zone has many worried. Have the orcs really stopped raiding or
are they preparing a new, devastating invasion? A one-round core
adventure set in the Domain of Greyhawk for characters levels 1-11
(APLs 2-8).

COR8-03 Aspirations (Living Greyhawk - D&D)
Powerful residents in the Gem of the Flanaess suspect that someone on
the Directing Oligarchy may be working with Greyhawk's greatest
enemy. As their hands are tied and their moves are watched, it falls
to a group of heroes to uncover this plot and follow wherever it
leads. Parties skilled in stealth, guile, or force welcome. A one-
round core adventure set in the Domain of Greyhawk for characters
levels 1-15 (APLs 2 to 12) and the second intrigue of "Honor Among
Thieves."

GRM BI
An investigation initiated by forgeries implicating a noble house has
revealed secrets of the enemy and a real connection to an Elector's
land. Absent orders to the contrary, and presently there is no one
above a Knight Colonel in Gran March, an operation has hastily been
orchestrated to punish the Brotherhood and their allies. A one-round
Gran March Battle Interactive for APLs 2-10 and part 9 of the
Homefront series. This is also an Interactive Missions adventure that
can be run non-interactively at conventions. This game contains
spoilers for GRM 7-5 Currents and should be played after that game.
Note that members of the Corporation meta-organization or
those "Marked for Death" by the Brotherhood probably do not want to
attend this game. This adventure will be of particular interest to
Members of the Gravedigger's Union, the Gran March Military and
members of the Church of Saint Cuthbert or Harvest Church meta-
organizations.

SHE7-04 "Bones of Contention"
SHE7-05 "Out of Sight, Out of Mind"
SHE7-06 "A Topaz is Forever"(2rounder)

Caveat: I have never seen the AR in question.

The LGCS specifically states "No item may be sold for more than it was
purchased at any time." (LGCS v7.5, p9, bullet #18)

My assumption is that this item was given to you, and you did not, in
fact, purchase it. Therefore, if the specific AR entry states that you
may sell it at value Xgp, then that is what you should go by.

There is a big difference in "being given something for free on an AR"
and "purchasing equipment". I do not believe that one actually would
"purchase" an item that costs "zero gp", as the definition of purchase,
according to Dictionary.com is "1. to acquire by the payment of money or
its equivalent; buy." Clearly that did not occur in this case.
Therefore the rule you are quoting would not apply, especially since the
AR item/module had specific rules regarding its acquisition and sell
value (based on what I've read).

I could go on about the intent of the above stated LGCS rule, but I
think my point is clear enough.

Again, I have not seen the AR, so take this with a grain of salt.

Simple.....the LGCS also says that you go by the description on the AR (and
applicable errata) for each item. If an item is given to you and says it has a
value then you can sell it for that value. The LGCS part about selling it is
referring to stuff you have bought or made.

1. This is specious reasoning. My copy of the gem was never used for any

spell component, so should continue to operate normally. They should have

simply said the stupid thing doesn't work anymore.

2. The gem was free, and since you can't sell an item for more than you

paid for it (LGCS page 9), why even give it a value?

Thanks for the heads up though.

Lifers
by P. Dennis Waltman

The line sergeant led a detail of four younger sergeants. Each
younger sergeant had four corporals with him, and each corporal
escorted one to three men roped together at the waist. The roped men
wore basic, simple clothing and shoes. Some had metal anklets with a
metal ring, but some did not. The lines were ragged and very un-
characteristic of Gran March military formation and file structure,
but the 2nd Penal Battalion was not a normal formation. They were
one of the work battalions, but with one difference only shared with
the 4th Penal Work Battalion, they only had people working off long
sentences in their ranks.

This day they had marched to Orlane, where the line sergeant had
been sent word that prisoners awaited him. As his formation marched
past the jails and magistrates of Orlane and stopped before the
Shining Spire, one of his men asked, "I didn't know you were a
Pholtian, sarge,"

"We have five prisoners to pick up here, and I heard the 3rd Penal
is getting a couple too," Line Sergeant Matteo replied.

"From a church?" two of the corporals asked incredulously.

The line sergeant sighed, and a nearby sergeant chuckled at the
heavy sigh. "Some churches are allowed to try their members and
clergy that break Low and High laws. I hear this place has been
having trials day and night for almost a month now. We are getting
five lifers here so be ready."

"Five lifers? From the church of Pholtus? The stuck-up, so law
abiding that they don't go to Lily's Pholtian? The –" The corporal
had continued to talk through the glare of the his sergeant and the
line sergeant, but the Pholtian leading the prisoners out of the
Shining Spire wore the tabard of a Captain, and that shut him up
quickly.

The five men led by the Captain were already tied waist to waist,
two in one string, and three in another, and were wearing leg
manacles of dark metal. The Captain handed the string leads to the
nearby sergeants saying, "These are Glimmering Lights Ardain,
Heller, Micha, Foster, and Grim." He handed six thick documents to
the line sergeant saying, "these are their charge reports. While all
five confessed to their crimes it is the principle of the situation
that we charge them and try them in any case. All five are to wear
leg manacles at all times as a part of their punishment, and so
adamantine ones, have been fashioned for them, and then permanently
closed afterward. Those are the reports of the trials and the
prisoners, if you would be so kind to provide them to your Captain."
He then turned his back on the lot of them and re-entered the
Shining Spire.

Line Sergeant Matteo eyed the five Pholtian priests, noticing that
they were not unhappy to be in this situation, and grumbled about
the slowness of pace that would be required for manacled prisoners.
He also noticed that the Captain had sneered at his men. He probably
thought that he and his men were almost as low as the prisoners, but
that was a way of thinking he was used to. One didn't volunteer,
usually, to be in the Penal Battalions. He let his sergeants and
corporals look at the reports as he placed the prisoners on the
lines.

"Hey Sarge," one of the young corporals called out, that tone
meaning him rather than one of the other sergeants. "They tried
fifty people for all sorts of crimes but most were not found guilty
because there was not enough evidence. They were all members of some
secret Pholtus group called the Bringers of Truth. These five
confessed to a lot of crimes and were found guilty of most of them.
One of them has twenty-two arsons and nineteen murders, and he
confessed to another eleven killings for which they did not find him
guilty!"

-----------------------------------------------

The Church of Pholtus has brought the formerly secret organization,
the Bringers of Truth to the open. The Bringers have sworn to cease
their illegal campaign to rid the Gran March of Churchs of Chaos,
and will instead work with the Church and legal means to see to
their goal. The leadership of the Church has agreed to seek out and
destroy the Chaotic and Evil before other Evil.

The Shining Master, who was once a Bringer of Truth, allowed himself
to be tried but he was found not-guilty of any crimes.

Influence Points with the Bringers of Truth now count as TWO
influence points with the Church of Pholtus and can be expended in
return for an invitation to the group for worshipers of Pholtus that
are otherwise qualified.

work out so that I still get credit for playing even if I run before
the play has been reported?

Didn't the Commandant get assassinated about 3 times in 3 months when
the 1st was protecting him. Now, I do understand that there was a
good bit of turnover after those incidents, but sometimes
backstabbers, chaotics, infidels, insurrectionists, and miscreants
offer the best protection, because they think more like people that
would try to assassinate the Commandant, and can, thus, come up with
countermeasures for such thinking.

"Convening the Council"
by Meredith Dunn and Jose Ortiz

The Weeping Council of the Oytwood has been called to convene, and the
representatives of the seven-dozen clans move to take their places in
the tree-lined hall. Over the sound of the rooftop branches creaking
in the sharp winter air, the Elder's voices raise in an
indistinguishable murmur as they share news and greet their fellows.
Magical fires are lit in fire-pits set at intervals along the hall,
burning brightly, some flickering in odd hues of blue, purple or green
depending on the lighter's' whim.

Another grim happenstance has drawn them together, and the faces of
the Elders reflect this reality. The mood is heavy.

Laureloth has pulled Finarphir aside to speak, one member of The
Tasked to another. There is a scowl on his narrow face.

"I do not like it," he is saying to Finarphir, who is listening as he
watches his fellows filter in through the gigantic trees. "Now is not
the time to entertain the desires of outsiders, however worthy their
messenger. We have troubles of our own!" He nods over his shoulder
briefly, and Finarphir follows his gaze to the messenger in question.

Gilráne, priest of Corellon and oldest of the elves in attendance, has
seated himself comfortably near one of the fires closest to the front
of the hall. He appears to be waiting with infinite patience for the
Council to begin and for the opportunity to present his case before
them. His dark hair stands out from the silver and blonde of the gray
elves, and his ethereal countenance marks him as the oldest elf in the
place. The faint crescent moons in his clear green eyes reflect the
firelight. He is as still and unreadable as the trees that line the hall.

Finarphir presses his lips together in thought.

"It is true we have our own problems," he says, as if hesitant to
agree with Laureloth. His face is calm, and he contemplates his words
carefully, despite the situation. "With Angrod still missing...it
would seem we have our hands full simply protecting our own. " Here
he pauses, thinking.

Laureloth raises his eyebrows, inviting him to continue. The other
council member's arms are crossed, a frown still creasing his silver
brows.

"However," Finarphir continues, "I am told the traveling priest is
here on behalf of the Dim elves and I for one would be inclined to
discuss what aid we may provide to help rid the land of the shadow
dragon scourge…it is not a situation we can ignore for…"

"We cannot go interfering in others' affairs while one of our own is
still missing." Laureloth interrupts, shifting his weight and looking
a bit impatient, "Do you so easily forget our divinations? Angrod
would still be here, and dozens of our people would still be alive,
had it not been for the actions of outsiders. The Brenin failed to
manage his fey allies after his return, and we have paid the price."

Finarphir manages a thin smile for his Council rival.

"Come now, Laureloth," he says, "Who can 'manage' the fey? They are a
force of nature, and act accordingly. Yes, I agree it is the Brenin's
responsibility to clean up after his wayward allies, but his
sellswords did retrieve most of our brothers unharmed..."

Laureloth waves away his compatriots comment as if swatting at gnats.

"Yet Angrod remains missing. Bah. And more troubling yet, is that
those that were returned to us could not recall any of their time
away. No, we have urgent matters of our own to look to without
entertaining the notion of aiding the wood elf princedom! "

Finarphir frowns in turn, lost in a thought.

"It is very odd," he murmurs, "that the fey took only the members of
our inner circle. Can they possibly know about our task? Could it be
related to...?", he trails off, shrugging eloquently.

"We shall hope that it isn't," Laureloth responds darkly, "although
the coincidences are too great for it to be merely chance." There is
a brief silence between them as they contemplate this chilling fact.
"This matter needs to be resolved, and the Brenin of the Flan be held
accountable. If he will not right the wrong that was perpetrated upon
us due to his negligence, then I say he has forfeited our trust, and
the land we have so generously granted his people in our woods."

"Agreed," Finarphir replies. "And that is why we have once again sent
for Serecine to return with the Brenin's servants. The Gyri merit
another chance, and I am confident they will come through…as they have
in the past. Once Angrod is returned to us, then we can begin to
address the situation in the Dim Forest."

"Perhaps," Laureloth says, although he looks dubious and not inclined
to agree to anything to do with matters outside the Oytwood. He
follows Finarphir as the two move to take a seat while the Elders
settle and start to quiet down in preparation for the council.

"Whirlwind of Voices"
by Sean Hillman

He has his eyes closed because for some reason it is easier to listen
that way. He always thought it odd that to heighten one sense, another
has to be closed off. In his youth, his eyes had always been the most
used of his senses. With your eyes you could see subtle nuances that
your other senses would always miss. Then had come the Blood War. In
the deep dark recesses of existence, human eyes could not see and all
subtle nuances are lost, unless you find another way to survive. That
is when he learned to open his ears and his mind. That is when he went
from being called `Human' to being called `General'.

He led the adventurers to meet the Old Faith as he had promised to do.
Some had tried to convince him to take the Voice of the Dead to
Caswallon directly but a compromise had been reached among all
concerned. They had decided on a place (Note: we need to choose a
place where they would bring it. – Sean) and time and all the
principles had come here to listen. Even the Archdruid is here though
he had been told that she was on the Plane of Shadows and very busy.

Somewhere to his left Caswallon is speaking with the Voice of the
Dead. The two are having an intense conversation dealing with matters
that most people would find confusing, at best. In the beginning
Caswallon had been doing most of the talking but as the conversation
has progressed the man has spoken less and listened more. The tones
in the druid's voice were telling and Caswallon apparently did not
like much of what he was hearing. To his credit however, the man was
not sticking to his tightly held beliefs but instead taking what the
Voice said to heart. Many others who were also listening seem
grateful for that and are whispering of how conflict might now be
avoided.

In the midst of this his ears pick up something else: a songbird's
cry. In the middle of winter it is rare to hear a songbird sing like
that. Opening his eyes he looks around and begins to walk towards the
sound. People get out his way and very few question where he is going.
Someone important does ask but the General ignores him and continues
to walk.

He walks out past the voices and ring of watching eyes, a gentle snow
falling around him. His ears keep their lock on the songbird but
remain alert as well. Perhaps it's a trap or some cruel trick for he
knows this songbird and he never had any hope that he could hear it
again. He brushes through one branch and then another and another, the
snow falling on his shoulders as he passes. He is close, his ears tell
him that and his feet pick up speed. Almost running, he pushes through
the last branches and into a small clearing.

There is no bird but instead a woman. A hundred years has not marred
her beauty and her eyes alight when they see him. Words come to his
throat but are caught there, held in by all the lost hope and wasted
emotion.

"Briallen." He says finally, able to say no more than that.

She smiles at him, her face as beautiful as he remembers. "You are late."

Her voice is full of forgiveness and hope, enough hope for both of
them. It loosens the tight noose around his voice. "I got a little lost."

She steps through the snow and into his arms. "You are home now, you
found the way."

"Home? Is this my home? This Gyruff is more alien than any part of the
lower planes my eyes have seen." He pulls her close to him and
breathes in her scent.

"It can be home, again. Listen with your heart, it is not so alien."

His force contorts at her words and he shakes his head. "No not yet. I
wasn't mistaken to come here but… not yet."

She places a hand upon his lips. "Soon." Her voice is soothing and he
believes her.

In order to prepare for the move, the KC of the 11th transfered most of the
problem children to the 22nd Battle, when that KC lost a bet on who would be
named to lead the new Barony.

;) ;)

Besides insurrectionists, infidel (do you mean Pelorites?), mutinous seem a
little over the top, and if the 11th has chaotic backstabbers which battles got
the lawful ones?

;) :)

You do know that manyof the characters that you did not approve of that you
conspired to have transfered to the 11th Battle at PRBs that you participated
in, promptly left that battle when the new year rolled around, right?

;) :)

Perhaps the Knight Field Marshall had a good reason to detach the 11th from his
Army.

What?!? That group of malcontents, losers, screwups, bunglers,
laughing-stocks, boneheads, goof-offs, halfwits, schnooks, simpletons,
knuckle-draggers, psych-cases, political undesirables, and subversives

What's next?!? Are we going to put the 11th battle, that gaggle of
mutinous, ungovernable, unmanagable, disorganized, chaotic
backstabbers, infidels, insurrectionists, and miscrecreants in charge
of the Commandant's personal protection detail?

At least since he's gone, they're unlikely to %#@$&% it up too badly.

Being "protected" by the 11th is a death sentence.

Dyvers - in a city where gold often dictates one's morals, adventure
is never far away. From the rangers of the Gnarley Forest to the lofty
Gentry of the city to the true rulers spinning their webs in dark
alleyways, everyone is in need of something and everyone has something
to sell. Foreign merchants clog the streets, plying wares from across
the Flanaess and solidifying Dyvers' claim of being the Jewel of the
Flanaess—a not-so-subtle dig at the eastern rival of Greyhawk City.
Welcome to the City of Sails, where gold is thicker than blood.

Weekend in Dyvers -2008
May 23 - 26, 2008 (Memorial Day Weekend)
Park Place Hotel, Kansas City, MO

This is a great con and a great facility. I've been for the last
several years and have had a great time. The mods are interesting and
are a nice change from GRM mods. The city of Dyvers is the
prototypical "wretched hive of scum and villany", and it's often
called a rogue's paradise by many PCs. This year they're having a 3
round interactive on Sunday as the conclusion of the Dyvers storyline.
Fortunately the slots are set up so you can play all six year 8 mods
before then. Some of these slots are full at the moment, but the
Dyvers crew is good at finding more judges - so sign up anyway.

Hope to see you there...

You are imagining, but it was almost what you thought

==================
Attention to Orders:

Githyanki Swords are no longer allowed to be used or worn while on duty in any
military capacity. If any active duty personnel are injured or killed in
githyanki attempts to retrieve the sword, it is as if the owner of said sword
drew it and struck the victim themselves. Knowingly bearing such a weapon into
highly populated areas or near the Commandant constitutes treason.

The Chancellor’s Office is interested in purchasing such swords from persons who
no longer wish to endanger others by bearing such weapons.

----------------------------------------------

What does this mean?
For all scenarios from GRM 7-5 and later (including interactives after July 1,
2007) one is violating military rules to bear or use a Githyanki Silver Sword
while using military time units or while on a military mission; automatic
demerit, possibly loss of rank. In addition, while not on duty bringing such a
weapon into Shiboleth, Hookhill, Proman, Orlane or Buxton’s Crossing constitutes
a violation of a Great Law. Also, any injuries or deaths caused by attempt to
get the sword from your character counts as if your character did the injuries
themselves.

------------------------------------------------------

The legally responsible for any deaths could mean that if the Gith (or
mercenaries as they might get tired of losing) popped in to take the sword and
they killed you; you would be held for murder of yourself (1040 TUs, IIRC,
unless you are an undesireable and then it is much less; assuming you got raised
at a ll, as your party might not see the point). Of course, being an
unregistered Kelenan Clergy is the same as being clergy of a class IV god, so
there is a problem there as well.

And as many of us know, having/doing something in an extra-dimensional space
doesn't excuse you from doing time or fine or both.

Starting 02/15/2008 and ending at 03/31/2008 (the final regional

Name of character (along with any ranks, titles, medals, and
Gran

Game Name (and AR#) where IP was gained, which
Baron/Elector/Warden

the influence point is with, and for which Commandant candidate
do

you wish to use the influence point to influence towards. Be

The ranks, titles, medals and meta-organization information
could

possibly multiply the effectiveness of the influence (and in
rare

You can also expend influence points with Gran March church

Knight Field Marshal Jorn Envian. Jorn Envian is the only Knight

	 Promotion Review Boards.

Elector Garenti. The Garenti lands are along the Sheldomar River

Ghostgate

and Garenti lands). Elector Garenti has made excellent business

deals and expanded the resources of the Garenti holdings. His

Magistrate (& Warrior Valiant) Aliam Nestor. Before being

There are some minor potential candidates, but they are not
serious

Unless I recall incorrectly, you either do not have a Gith sword, or you had

better be leaving GM real fast. I seem to recall a message that Gith swords

are now illegal in GM and an edict went out that all such items must be

Interlude: "Change" (Part 3)
by P. Dennis Waltman

Chancellor Housemann and Knight Field Marshal Envian walked to a
secluded corner of the Chancellor's office where a pair of chairs and
table had been placed. They sat, and sipped the tea waiting for them.

"So, it is true," Jorn Envian said more, than asked. "The Hammer of
the Neheli really gone? Are you sure he hasn't just gone off on one
of his cross-planar trips?"

Houseman paused a very long time before answering, in a somber face
that appeared genuine, "It is true. Whether he is alive or dead, we
do not know, only that he is taken and according to the 1st Battle
escort unlikely to return."

"So he had an escort, why ...

<They discuss some game spoiler information>

Putting down his tea, Knight Field Marshal Envian asked, "So when is
the election?"

"Until we confirm that he is not returning to us, we can't really
elect a new Commandant."

"So without a body, the government continues on as it can, with you
in charge of the day-to-day operations of government, able to
consolidate votes until you get word? That is very convenient. It
is also convenient for us in the military that you do not have a role
in the chain of command."

"It is proper. How would things look if he returns and we have
already elected someone new. That it gives time for me to gather
support is only incidental to the situation, "Housemann replied. "I
take it, you will not be supporting me this year?"

"No, I plan to run for Commandant, myself. This seems my best
opportunity with Helenasdotter busy with her Barony. Do you know who
else is planning to challenge for the position?"

"The previous Elector Promani had declared a challenge to Vrianian
already, but he was assassinated last fall at the Regatta, and the
body went missing during the trek to Ghostgate. I understand that a
Magistrate from Hookhill, Aliam Nestor, has gathered quite a bit of
support, and that Elector Garenti is also gathering support. The
latter has been hosting a number of parties here in Hookhill."

"Nestor, he is a cousin, some removed, from Baron Promanshire, is he
not? Wasn't he the prosecutor in that Olowyn trial?

This should be a most interesting election, cousin."

"Yes, it should,' said Chancellor Housemann.

====================================================

As the interlude says, Commandant Magnus Vrianian is indeed missing.
This event is handled in a game so details are left unsaid. The
powers-that-be know he is likely not to return so there is indeed a
jockeying for the election that will come (once non-return and/or
death is confirmed).

It is the intent of the Gran March Triad that players have some
effect, if they desire it, on the final two Commandant candidates
(after the first set of ballots are concluded). The election result
is planned to occur in a game.

Hello all and sorry for those of you receiving this message multiple times from
different Yahoo groups.

I'm very disappointed in Living Greyhawk's demise and am truly going to miss
playing it!!

Now, how does that statement relate to Conclave? Very simple, I am going to
have to make a VERY tough choice by March 1st. of whether to let Conclave run or
to cancel it! I would really hate to have to cancel the convention and loose
that opportunity to play w/ some very interesting characters that I've met and
enjoyed playing w/ in the world of Living Greyhawk. I would very much love to
take LG out w/ a bang instead of letting it fizzle out, even though I'm VERY
much waiting to see what LFR will bring as I've grown up reading all the books.
I understand everyone's apprehension and I'm willing to make one final plea to
anyone even thinking of attend Conclave.

I'm making the whole weekend of Conclave only $30, as I'm hearing that this is a
big factor in allot of individuals decision's of whether to come or not this
year w/ Megacon and Conclave unfortunately being so close together. Please
understand that I only base the price on attending on the price that I must pay
to have the convention and they upped it a little, but hey admission prices
haven't changed in the first 4 years:) I hope that anyone wishing to attend may
do so and hope to see everyone soon.

Please note that if we can't muster 3 tables worth of players by March 1st. I
will, w/ a very heavy heart, have to cancel Conclave until next year!

Thank you for you time and understanding!

The Conclave Staff
