EconoCon will be in a new location this year. We're going to be at

There are plenty of places to eat nearby.

If you were at Wicked Harvest or Catchup Con, it's the same place,
just a different room.

every slot they run.

===========================================================

GRM 8-01: Consequences
Heroes faced with two choices, chose the easy way seeking short term
good and
ignoring long term evil. Now it is time to pay the piper and it's
the Hellscepter
that calls the tune. For many it's the second visit to a gnomish
ghost town on the
border with Veluna. Will it be the easy way or the hard way this
time?

This game contains spoilers for GRM 7-1 Gnome Friends and should be
played after that game.

part eight of the Homefront series (GRM 7-1 Gnome Friends, GRM 7-2
Gullet,
GRM 7-4 The Threat Within, GRM 7-IN2 The Hard Road to Peace, GRM 7-5
Currents,
GRM 7-IN3 Troubled Waters, GRM 7-9 The Lost and the Found, being
previous seven games).

Members of the Churches of Pholtus, Obad-Hai, Knights of the Watch
or Dispatch and persons
bonded to Hellbreaker or the Hellscepter may find this adventure
useful.

GRM 8-02: Pest Control ***Premiere***
Pestilential Politics in Orlane are getting out of hand. One body's
already turned up;
will there be more? Will you get to the heart of the matter or will
it get to you first?
Do you have both the courage and audacity to act?

A Gran March regional adventure for APLs 4-14 and part 9 of the
Homefront Series.
Note: This adventure will be of interest to PCs who have participated
in the Homefront story
arc as well as PCs belonging to regional religious metaorgs or
standard churches of Gran March.

===========================================================

Also, all of the new Cores (8-01 through 8-05 will be available (if
they are
available for convention play.

CORS8-01 Whispers of the Obsidian Citadel by Dave Christ and Tim Sech
People, objects, and even places seem to be shifting in and out of
existence
in the Yatil's west of the great city of Mitrik. Chaos seems to be
unravelling
existence itself and it's spreading. Seers speak of the `Door to
Perdition'
but even the gods themselves seem to be silent on exactly what is
happening.
Great things are afoot and while nations focus their attention on
each other
it is up to heroes to find out what is going on before it's too late
and all
of Oerth burns in the fires perdition forever. This adventure is the
first part
of the "Ascension" plot arc and also concludes the "For the Greater
Good" series.
This adventure is EXTREMELY dangerous and should not be undertaken
lightly.
True heroes are forged in the glowing hot coals of struggle and true
heroes
it will take to win through this day.

A two-round core special adventure set in Veluna and the Yatil
Mountains
for characters levels 5-15 (APLs 6-14).

COR8-01 Machinations by Bradley Lester
The wealth and glamour of the Gem of the Flanaess mask a fierce power
struggle
among Greyhawk's ruthless elite. Factions plot against each other
beneath a veneer
of civility where even indirect details can trip up the most careful
of schemers.
Those who ask questions will learn too much, but in Greyhawk,
innocence is not a
defense and ignorance is never bliss. Parties skilled in stealth or
guile will flourish.

A one-round core adventure set in the Free City of Greyhawk
for characters levels 1-15 (APLs 2-12) and the first intrigue of
Honor Among Thieves.

COR8-02 Raiders of the Chaos Fields by Creighton Broadhurst
Turrosh Mak, despot of the Orcish Empire of the Pomarj, wants peace.
Is this some
new stratagem on the wily half-orc's part or is his offer genuine? A
period of
relative peace along Greyhawk's buffer zone has many worried. Have
the orcs really
stopped raiding or are they preparing a new, devastating invasion?

A one-round core adventure set in the Domain of Greyhawk
for characters levels 1-11 (APLs 2-8).

COR8-03 Aspirations by Gregory Hanigan and Ron Lundeen
Powerful residents in the Gem of the Flanaess suspect that someone on
the Directing
Oligarchy may be working with Greyhawk's greatest enemy. As their
hands are tied
and their moves are watched, it falls to a group of heroes to uncover
this plot and
follow wherever it leads. Parties skilled in stealth, guile, or force
welcome.

A one-round core adventure set in the Domain of Greyhawk
for characters levels 1-15 (APLs 2 to 12) and the second intrigue of
Honor Among Thieves.

That may not be the case any more. I think I have someone to handle
it. I'm still confirming that. Although, if someone still wants to

Shevacon is one of Southwest Virginia's longest running events,
featuring a relaxed atmosphere and a great deal of programming, of which
the RPGA is only a part. Shevacon XVI is scheduled for Feb. 22 - 24,
2008, at the Holiday Inn Tanglewood in Roanoake, VA. For more
information, check out the Shevacon website at www.shevacon.org. The
gaming schedule, including RPGA programming, can be found at

http://www.warhorn.net/shevaconxvi

Note: You will need to sign up and pay on the con site, then schedule
your games on the gaming site separately. RPGA and affiliated games
will be taking place in slots 3,4,5,6,7 and 8.

This year at Shevacon we'll be featuring several of the latest Geoff
mods, including a new premiere or two. So if you haven't been able to
make all the latest Geoff cons, this is a good chance to catch up!
We'll also have Project: Crusaders and other regional Marvel Super
Heroes campaigns by Mark Geary, as well as a Serenity RPG special event,
"Reaver's Dance", and a sneak peak at Serenity: Still Free - a new
regional Serenity campaign premiering this summer.

Judges Needed!!!
Shevacon is a relaxed, slower pace convention with a lot of little
things to do and be part of. We need judges and volunteers who are
interested in helping run and be part of the program. If you run 4
slots, you'll be admitted to the whole convention for free.

If you are interested in helping out as a judge, *please* join the
shevaconrpga Yahoo group, where we'll be scheduling slot 0's, and
distributing other important judge-related stuff. And feel free to go
ahead and sign up to run on the Warhorn site.

Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you!

Gran March History Lesson (Not Canon, but my understanding)

Originally the first Knightly order in Gran March were the Knight of
the March. This order may have even been established before there
was an official Gran March by the King of Keoland.

Knights of the March during its history had groups that "broke" off
from it, such as Knights of the Watch/Dispatch, Knights of the
Malagari (Keoland Meta-org).

Military requires that an officer at a certain rank or above be
a "knight". Since these splinter Knightly orders don't take
everyone, the Knights of the March still exist. For example, one of
the first Pathfinder Captains was an elf. The KotW/D do not allow
elves to be members, and Captains (IIRC) are required to be Knights,
so this elf would have been knighted (Knights of the March) before
being granted the rank of Captain.

I would think that Knights of the March would be a knightly order
where one is granted the rank by the Commandant. As far as I know,
there are no levels of rank of Knights of the March as there are in
the KotW/D, but military rank would probably be almost equivalent.

I know. My question was specifically how it works in GM.
Unfortunately, since Knights of the March are not a meta-org, there is
no documentation and I'm not sure there's any "authority" either
(short of the Triad generally being the final authority on all things
Gran Marchey).

Okay, so here's the follow-up question... My PC was inducted into the
Order of Foo (names have been changed to protect the innocent - i.e.
avoiding spoilers) in the same breath he was knighted. It's not clear
to me, are there different orders of the Knights of the March and this
is the one he was accepted into, or is it a totally separate thing and
he happened to get inducted into both?

Except in Gran March, Lord is a midling landed nobility below Elector but above
Knights of the March and Knights of the Watch and Dispatch.

There have been Knight Lieutentants and Knight Captains before, which I think
indicates the fact that the are a Knight other than Watchers and Dipatchers,
would might be Watcher Lieutentant or Dispatcher Captain.

So it is possible that Knight Senior Staff Sergeant might be the appropriate
mode, but I supposed Sir/Dame could also be used. Electors and Barons (and
Baroness, i.e. a woman Baron) tend to have people use the titles and sometimes
their region rather than their name, "I saw Baron Farvale speaking with
Chancellor Housemann" for example.

My thoughts on the matter only,

A Knight is addressed as Sir or Dame <firstname>, or if they are landed Lord
<title/location>.

For example, Dave Walters is a simple knight, so you would say Sir Dave, or
My Lord, or My Liege. If Dave is given the title of Earl of Apex, you would
say Lord Apex. Peers would simply call him Apex.

What is the correct form of address for a Knight of the March? If a
knight's name is John Doe, then is he simply called Sir John Doe? Or
is there a different title afforded to Knights of the March?

Except, the Army of Victory isn't under KFM Alicia Helenasdotter anymore.

but to say more would be a spoiler.

Isn't it wonderful then that the 11th is being sent to protect
Hookhill........... ;)

It's not so much hostility as the simple truth. For the last however
long, any suboptimal soldier that went through a PRB got sent to the
11th. Halfling cooks, bakluni dancing girls, the whole nine yards of
weirdos that are still somehow in this Army. I'd hate to be the
decent, sober, upright, responsible, principled officer in charge of
those losers. :-D

Yep. We're on the front line as a part of the Army of Victory under
KFM Alicia Helenasdotter. The KC of the 22nd has never been
specified, though. We are the battle axe pointed at Turrosh Mak's
throat.

Hostility much?

So, the 22nd's in Ulek now? I might...it would be a change of pace
from cleaning up Shibolith after giants and demons. Next thing you
know, we'll have a song just for that city...Giant, Demons and Bears!
Oh my!

Just let me know if you've got room for a Pathfinder detachment.

Yseult isn't the Captain of the biggest bunch of malcontents, losers,
screwups, bunglers, laughing-stocks, boneheads, goof-offs, halfwits,
schnooks, simpletons, knuckle-draggers, political undesirables and
psych-cases in the entire Army. I'm not sure she'd accept a

highly prestigious deployment position as far forward on the front

It's that time again - the sound of paperwork (in triplicate) rustles
through the cities, forts, encampments, and bivouacs throughout Gran
March, and all over the Sheldomar where the loyal forces of Gran March
are found. End of year transfers are being processed everywhere!

There are several PCs in the Twenty Second Battle in Ulek. If you'd
like to join us, please request a transfer (as indicated on pg 22 of
the military general organization doc). We plan to design unit colors
and heraldry.

Let's go stick it to Turrosh Mak - for Commandant and Country!

Welcome to the front line, soldier.

Apologies for the cross posting.

Once again, the Geoff triad is hosting a pre-DDXP game day. The location is
the Hyatt Regency (same hotel as DDXP). The date is Wednesday, February 27.
We are planning on three slots, starting at 9 am, 2pm, and 7pm. Mustering
will be in the lobby near the front of the hotel. Modules will be run in
players' rooms.

Cost is three dollars per person per slot.

To sign up, please email me (the event organizer) at johnpieper at cox.net.
I need to know your preferred PC (class and level), APL and the modules you
want to play. Module names, APLs, and plots are listed below.

Space is limited, so sign up soon. If you're interested in judging, please
let me know. I need more judges.

Many thanks,
John Pieper,
Geoff Triad

Blurbs:
GEO7-01: By the Light of Twain Moons
By Jose Ortiz. A rare conjunction of two moons, one full and one crescent,
haunts your dreams. A sense of urgency tugs at your mind. But to do what?
The answer, it would seem, can be found in the Hornwood forest, of all
places. A Geoff Regional adventure for APLs 4-10 and Part One of The
Crescent Moon Rising series. Note: This adventure will be of particular
interest to elves and members of the Naven Du'aellesti, Church of Corellon,
and Church of Sehanine Moonbow.

GEO7-02: Blood Feud
By John Pieper and Nora Palmer. The half-orcs of Clear Sky have arrived in
Melgorn, and they have started building their homes in the new town of Clear
Sky. Their new neighbors drop by for a visit, but old enemies threaten the
developing relationship. The PCs may be the ones who keep things from
falling apart. A Geoff regional adventure for APLs 2-10. A loose sequel to
GEO 4-08 Massacre at Clear Sky and GEO Intro 6-03 The Old Ways. Note: This
adventure will be of particular interest to members of Clear Sky and the
Naven Du'aellesti.

GEO7-03: Breath of the Ancients
By Alissa and Chad Clary. A new development threatens to annihilate the
inhabitants of the Dim Forest. With a dead bondmate and a withered Heart,
everyone in or near the Forest is in dire need of help. Will you be the one
to walk the path of fallen heroes? A Two-round Geoff Regional adventure for
APLs 6-12, and Part 3 of the Cycle of Darkened Mirrors series. Note: This
adventure will be of particular interest to member of the Order of Shining
Beacons, Servants of the Sylvan Throne, and Warband of the Seven Tribes.

GEO7-04: The Orb of War
By Steve Adams, Teos Abadia and Jose Ortiz.. A business opportunity turns
serious when the dwur extend an open hand to their friends and a bared axe
to their foes. A Geoff Regional adventure for APLs 4-10. Note: This
adventure will be of particular interest to dwarves, Army of Stone members,
Cantrev of Ystrad Cloer members.

GEO7-05: A Whisper of Thunder
By Leslie Erwin and Sean Hillman. The followers of the Ffordd Purdeb, or
Path of Purity, are slowly gathering strength, particularly in the wilder
cantrevs yet to be fully resettled. Many yearn for a return to simpler days,
and fear that they may have regained their homes only to lose their
identities among a sea of foreign mercenaries. A fragment of ancient druidic
lore may lead to the healing so many are seeking, both for the Land and its
people. or it may destroy a fragile nation still reeling from a terrible
war. A Geoff Regional Module for APLs 2-10 and Part Two of the Path of
Purity. Note: This adventure will be of particular interest to members of
the Brenin's Fist, Old Lore Bards, Gwyrth Bryn, Rhychdir Rhos, and Old Faith

GEO7-06: Spearbreaker
By Sean Hillman. The War between the Shadar Kai and the people of Cysgod
Annwn is quickly coming to a crisis. New tactics among the enemy require the
presence of the Celebrated Brightlings. Can heroes save the Angry Mountain
and give back to one of the daughters something she had thought lost
forever? A Geoff Regional adventure for APLs 4-12.

GEO7-07: The Great Game
By John Pieper and Jose Ortiz. The Old Faith receives a prophecy from their
Oracle: Old roads must be trod and forgotten allies called upon before the
coming storm. A Geoff Regional adventure for APLs 2-16.

GEO7-08: Grey Matter
By Paul Ellison, Christopher Day and Jim Ghiloni. The new king of the
gnomes, King Ingot Quickobucon, is popular in the Stark Mounds. However, not
everyone loves the king and an investigation is requested by an old
companion. The investigation will lead curious adventurers to hunt for
something that Clan Ramsees has misplaced, and possibly find more than they
bargained for in the process. A Geoff regional adventure for APLs 4-12, and
Part 2 of the Stark Contrasts series (Part 1 was GEO6-04 Delusions of
Grandeur). This adventure will be of particular interest to members of the
Ambassador's Step Children, Church of Azmekidom, the Evro Llygadi, and Enosi
Thautamturgists.

SHE7-01 Three to One's Wonder by Will Dover
The Knights appear to have the upper hand against the Triumvirate and the
fortunes of good appear to be on the rise. So when is the other shoe going
to drop? It is essential to play SHE5-04 A Cup O'erturned, SHE6-01 Flesh
Torn Asunder, or SHE6-05 A Book Unburned before playing this scenario. A
Sheldomar Valley metaregional adventure for APLs 8-14, and Part Four of the
Turf War Series.

SHE7-02 A Whispered One's Return by Will Dover
Bad news typically comes in threes and now there are three items of evil
loose in the city of Hochoch. Can you find them before anyone uses them? It
is essential to play Three to One's Wonder before playing this scenario. A
Sheldomar Valley metaregional adventure for APLs 8-16, and Part Five of the
Turf War Series.

SHE7-03 Night of Madness by Sean Hillman
It had been thought that all accounts had been settled but apparently a few
notations in the ledger had been missed. Missed, but not forgotten. Strange
merchants, whispered secrets, and odd excavations have aroused suspicions in
Newick. It is possible that services performed have not been repaid and for
those merchants of the deepest markets, such a debt cannot be allowed to
stand. A Sheldomar Valley metaregional adventure for APLs 8-16.

SHE7-04 Out of Sight, Out of Mind by Steve Hess
The discovery of an ancient temple deep in the Jotens has brought together
many disparate elements in service to the greater good. Where once there
was only monster-infested wilderness, a civilized community has been
founded: Ladylight Pass offers the miners and explorers gathered there
shelter and rest from their work. She also requires adventurers to help
keep the darkness at bay. Who knows what threats lurk just outside her
comfortable confines? A Sheldomar Valley meta-regional adventure for APLs
8-12 and Part Two of the Not One of Us series.

SHE7-05 Bones of Contention by Steve Enzor with Scott Vandenberg, Patty
Kinyon and James Maissen
"The high and the mighty" is how your old pap put it, when discussing the
powerful men and women who made things happen and ruled the world. Hard to
believe, but you seem to have entered that lofty sphere yourself, and your
companions with you. How else to explain why the Seekers, Silent Ones,
Pomarj, Knights of several orders and others are dogging your heels in a
life or death scramble for thaumaturgy that could rock the world. A one
round Sheldomar Valley Metaregional woodlands adventure for APLs 12-16, and
Part 6 of the Mysteries of the Suss Series. Racially diverse parties are
recommended.

SHE7-06 Prophecy by Dennis Waltman
A problem for the Knights of the Watch is roaming northern Gran March, a
potential nightmare at a time when it is best not to have such things.
People in the right place at the right time can either mitigate or
exacerbate the public relations difficulties for the Order. A Sheldomar
Valley metaregional adventure especially designed to reverse Enmity of
Knights of the Watch from Check the Fine Print for APLs 8-16.

SHE7-07 A Topaz Is Forever by Dave Kayserman
A powerful force is on the verge of being released into the Sheldomar, and
you have been called upon to prevent it. The mission seems simple enough:
infiltrate an impregnable fortress and rub elbows with some of the most
powerful villains in the Sheldomar. Will you have the jewels to handle it? A
two-round, role-playing intensive, Sheldomar Valley meta-regional espionage
adventure for APLs 6-12.
Note: This adventure will be of particular interest to rogues, charismatic
PCs, and members of the Dreadwalkers meta-org.
Player Note: Players with exotic cohorts or animal companions may not be
able to bring them along for the majority of the adventure. Players of
Centaur or other non-humanoid PCs may find themselves at a disadvantage in
this adventure.

If you are interested in helping out as a judge, please join the
shevaconrpga Yahoo group, where we'll be scheduling slot 0's, etc, and
feel free to go ahead and sign up to run on the Warhorn site.

Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you!
