SotC laid out relatively thoroughly what defenses are used when. Diaspora is a bit more coy about it.
Other than Agility, what Skills has the design team been using for defense, and what are some examples of the description of such?
Our dirty secret is that we use pretty much ANY skill in defense if there's a story and it hasn't been overused. If the player can sell it, then it stands. If it's a more "cinematic" that practically realistic use, though (like, say Resolve -- I'm just too cool to get shot) then you better have a stunt that does that.
Because we are so free with it, we instituted the "never the same skill twice" rule in social combat. It can liven up personal combat if you find defense is too loose there.
