Description

Fantastic Adventures in Tabletop Entertainment

Fate is a free, standalone RPG system, available electronically from the files area of this group.

At present, Fate's basis is the Fudge ruleset, which is available for free or purchase, but you do not need a copy of those rules to use Fate, and several additional dice resolution mechanics are currently under development.

Here are just a few of the things people are saying about Fate:

"Fate is one of the best written rule sets I have ever come across. The examples are quite helpful, the layout is professional, the language is light without trying to be funny, and all important things are covered." - Harald Wagener

"This is a very fine piece of work, here, folks. I'm impressed with the balance you've managed to strike between Fudgey-options and specific game elements. The next time I run Fudge, I'm using FATE." - John Harper of Shooting Iron

"I'm here to tell you that even die-hard, rules-crunchy ex-Amber DRPG d20-fanatic world-building freelance designer joes like myself can find endless and glorious potential in FATE. It is to Fudge what Tiramisu is to espresso and ladyfingers." - Cam Banks

"The players all really like the aspects. The idea that they - as one of the players put it - 'allowed a character to play to his strengths' - was a big hit." - Darren Hill

"This system has made me say AHHHHHHH more times than anything has in quite some time. I like it, and I like it a lot. It seems an excellent combination of both rules and story/cinema." - Uruz

"I think Fate is changing the way I think of Fudge, and is fast becoming my favorite implementation of it." - Jim Dickinson

"This is an amazing piece of work, both well-thought-out and presented. And certainly the best pre-packaged Fudge bit I've seen." - Mike Bowlings

I use Contacting as the schmoozing skill, the ability to work the room at parties and tradeshows; if you don't have a social network in place, Contacting helps
