Fantastic Adventures in Tabletop Entertainment

Fate is a free, standalone RPG system, available electronically from the files area of this group.

At present, Fate's basis is the Fudge ruleset, which is available for free or purchase, but you do not need a copy of those rules to use Fate, and several additional dice resolution mechanics are currently under development.

... It's in a *challenge.* You can't use the same skill twice in a challenge, because that would be redundant -- you should just roll all of the <foo> skill

I could swear I saw something in one of the new Fate books about not being able to use the same skill twice in the same round in a conflict, but for the life
