It is said that Aristotle created Amber when he drew the Pattern in
his own blood.
However, Alexander, his student, son, or creation depending on which
tale you believe, that made Amber great.
Alexander the Great. First King of Amber. He led the armies of Amber
in conquest. Not just of one world, but of many.
He triumphed over the Chiss who dared call themselves Amber's equals.
His soldiers rained fire down on the topless towers of Bjarmaland. He
personally lead the boarding party that took the Sōja.
It seemed that his conquests would go on until they included the
rumored Courts of Chaos at the other end of reality.
Then, one day he ordered his armies to halt. On land, on water, in
air, in space, the armies of Amber declared their current front lines
to be their borders and ceased to conquer.
Alexander rode off into Shadow alone, seeking, it is said, some piece
of great secret wisdom.
Then he came back, sick and dying.
Rebellion has begun to ferment in the provinces he conquered. Generals
that would never have betrayed Alexander, begin to mutter about who
could be worthy to succeed him.
It is a dark time for Amber.
The only hope for the Empire is for a strong ruler to succeed Alexander.
Do you have what it takes to succeed the man who is know as The Great?
I'm planning to take a stab at running an Amber Throne War over PBEM
if anyone's interested.
