I built some new pieces last week, specifically 3 different tones of
hill/tree terrain, arid, mediteranean and northern, and a pillbox and
trench network piece
I put all the photos up at my site www.red-dragon-terrain.com

Hello,
As good as this game appears, I don't see myself getting around to playing
it anytime soon. I think it will be better off with someone who can spend
more time with it!
I've got a copy of GMT's DOWNTOWN and C3Is #17 and #18 (containing the
DOWNTOWN expansions) for sale. All are in very good (basically new)
condition and unpunched.
Price is $65 for all three.
Contact me directly at mark.burdette@... if you are interested.
Thanks,
Mark Burdette

I have made a few posts recently. Looking for a suitable wargaming vehicle to
model a proposed Japanese strike on Majuro anchorage in May 1944 ("second Pearl
Harbor" as it was hoped). Would have featured fully 13 Japanese aircraft
carriers plus screens trying to surprise TF 58 plus escort carriers, BBs, CA/CLs
and wall-to-wall DDs/DEs.
Would even have featured Japanese amph tanks launched from subs and carrying
torpedoes to try getting across the reef into the lagoon.
Also looking for English rules translation for Yamato by Hobby Japan.

Hello All,
I am still out here ready to respond to your messages. I write on my
bunkermeister blog every day, it is all about models and wargaming and such with
photos nearly every day.
I am happy to hear from anyone from this group, some of the photos on this
site are very good.
Caesar Miniatures, makes 1/72nd scale soft plastic figures. They recently
came out with a set of Modern Chinese and Modern French. There are about
enough different poses per country to do a small squad of each. They figures
are highly detailed, and while the French are more like FFL than regular
French Army, the Chinese are very nice. Not many Asian armies out there for
modern wargames.
My wargaming buddies did a Soviet vs Japan wargame 1939 era. The Soviets
and Japan clashed several times in the preWorld War Two era but never too
much. The Soviets were too strong for the Japanese who did not want to commit
large resources to the area.

No, just pretty quiet.
And by chance, my current big project is 20mm Vietnam. Been painting Britannia
figs, and planning out terrain and whatnot.
I finished reading "Riverine" by Sheppard a couple weeks ago, which really got
me hyped up to some riverine stuff. So, now I'm trying to find DWGs of the
various boats so that I can scratchbuild some stuff.
If anyone can recommend any good books with boat plans, I'd greatly appeciate
any suggestions.

A general call to members and clubs,
I am currently finishing a 'Dossier' for WSS (Wargames, Soldiers and Stratagy
Magazine)on the Battle of the Imjin River, centred around the 29th Brigade. With
the loss of my main source of photos to illustrate the battle, aside from
catalogue illustrations, I am looking for a suitable gallery to draw from
subject to the approval of the editor of the magazine. Obviously, any
contributors (individual or club) would be credited accordingly.
If you are able and willing to help, please contact via this group.
Thanks in advance...

Thanks, Mike.
Speaking of designing games, I have been toying with an idea for a "2nd Pearl
Harbor" wargame, in which the Japanese attempt a surprise attack on the US
anchorage at Majuro in either April (original plan) or May 1944. Didn't actually
happen, needless to say, but interesting to contemplate: 13 Japanese CV/CVL/CVE
against 18 US CV/CVL/CVE, land-based air and even amphibious tanks armed with
torpedoes to wade across the reef into the lagoon; see
http://www.combinedfleet.com/U-GO.htm. Cannot find what appears to be a
satisfactory game vehicle to use as a model but am looking.

Hello, all:Just joined and need help. I currently have a copy of a game from
Hobby Japan covering surface combat in the Pacific in WW2. Had it for about 20
years; I believe it is called 'Yamato' but am not sure as while I can speak some
Japanese I cannot read Kanji worth a hoot.
And therin lies my need for help: the rules are all in Japanese. Fine diagrams
indicate what are probably cracker-jack rules for torpedo attacks, facing and so
on, but with no way to read the explanations the game is not playable.
So anyone have an English translation of the rules to this game? Thanks in
advance for any help you may be able to give.

Hi All,
Looking for info on the Ichogil Bund battle during the 1965 conflict for a
terrain layout. Have found info that says there were three huts (KG, Centre &
Broken). Does anyone know why the huts were called this and does anyone have a
map of the bund. I have found references to a pill box north of the KG hut and
also MMG trenches but I would really like to know the layout.
Thanks
Richard
Visited the hobby shop today and got the Pegasus Farm Animals and
Italeri US Army World War II sets in 1/72nd scale plastic.
Both sets were flash free and very nice. I had heard mixed reviews of
the Italeri set and it was much better than I expected. If it had three
or four more poses actually shooting at something it would have been
better, but I will buy more. The US Army figures include a great .30
caliber machine gun and a 60mm mortar.
I posted photos of the Farm Animals a few weeks ago and will have more
photos of them and the US Army in the next few days on my blog.

The new Waterloo 1815 Japanese are very nice figures and the first new

Michigan Toy Soldier Company is now selling a new line of terrain
called Bresica Miniatures. They are making trenches, bunkers and
artillery positions for 1/72nd scale wargaming. The terrain has a sort
of terrace effect so that the figures will stand up on them.
Check out my blog for some photos.
