We will again be at the Red Lion Inn 541-342-5201. Unfortunately,
outside food and drink is not allowed but there are plenty of nearby
establishments or if you are renting a room that is of course
available. Water will be available and some coffee in the mornings.

In addition the ball room where our event is not able to be locked so
if you bring valuables be sure and bring them home at night.

Woohoo, only a month away from a weekend of gaming goodness. THis is
mostly a free form board gameing event. Please bring some games to
share and be used. Please include your name inside your game or on the
cover so t can be returned to its proper owner. Please feel free to
post games you plan on bringing and games you'd like to play. There are
two lists for such in the database. I have no tournaments set up but if
people want to organize something feel free to do it here. Also please
feel free to set up tables for longer games like Die Macher, Roads and
boats etc.

I will start if with some classics that will be available from my game
library and list theme in the database.

With EGG about 3 weeks away, I thought I would post some information
on the prize table. Here are the details:

Bring a new or like new game. When you show up, I will have you
sign
your name to two pieces of paper. One will go in a hat, the other
will be attached to your game. On Saturday night @ 8pm SHARP we
will
draw the first name from the hat. That person will get to choose
any
game from the table they want. Then, they will turn that game over,
and announce who brought it. That person will then take a game of
their choosing. We keep going until all the games are chosen, and
(hopefully) everyone has something new and interesting.

Please note that participation in the Prize Table is *NOT* manditory.

Also please note that this is separate from the door prizes that
will be offered.

If there are any questions, feel free post here, or email me at:
logoth at hotmail dot com.

I have been learning HIS with Ed Beach, the designer, over the past
month or so on a PBEM forum and would be willing to GM this game,
which re-creates the German Reformation. Please let me know if you
have an interest in joining. Probably on Saturday morning and please
be warned, this is an incredible experience in history. You may play
the role of The Papacy, Holy Roman Emperor, Ottoman Turk, France,
England or the Protestants led by Martin Luther. Six players
preferred but still playable with less. It will take 5-6 hours to get
thru a new game with newcomers but believe me it is worth the effort
as the game play is just amazing!!

Is anyone interested in Titan (the old Avalon Hill monster recruiting game) or Advanced Civ?

One major problem with these games is that there is a lot of down time and Advanced Civ can go for 8+ hours.  Perhaps for those who play, we would have to play some side games while waiting for things to happen.

Hi Jeff,

I'm very interested in history but I wonder, is the game a
Risk/Diplomacy type of cut-throat play? I'm not much for those
intense Slaughter the Opponent at Any Cost type of games. I'm more a
cooperative player with a hint of competitiveness. I just want to
assess the basic style of the game before I commit to joining ranks
with the heathens, the heretics and the holy.

Thanks.

Joyful journeys!

Peace,

Carol Anne

As Funagain/FRED are the exclusive distributors for that game in the
US, I will be happy to bring a copy and teach it, Lorna.

It is on the heavier side for a Wallace game so you might not like it
though, Lorna, knowing your taste.
