The "Free Earth" Trait   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #2174 of 2270 |
For people who were at the last event, I wanted to give a clarification about the "Free Earth" trait that was given over the radio by PCs at one point.

There was, unfortunately, a miscommunication between staff and players about how the Community skill works involved in this encounter. Creating a new community requires that all of the people involved talking amongst themselves for at least five minutes, and it cannot be done "By Voice." So, there's no way a Community trait could be granted over the radio.

So, as a workaround to reconcile how things went, with how they were supposed to do: The broadcast had its primary, intended effect of counteracting the despair spread by DJ Hex. It also granted the Free Earth Trait *temporarily* to anyone who heard the speech. However, because it didn't have the full power of the normal Exemplar skill behind it, the trait will slowly fade over the course of a week, leaving an increased sense of "belonging" but not a full sense of Community in those who heard it.
