If anyone has any shots of the last Sealion game (micro amrour,
British Counterattack), perhaps they could email me a few? For
whatever reason, my camera deleted them.

This event repeats on the first Tuesday of every month.
Event Location: Glenora Community League Hall
Notes:
136th Street and 104th Ave
I apologize for my recent extended absence from the Glenora
meetings. My usual excuse is that I need every free minute to work
on a development for ATO Magazine. This time it is different.
On March 1, 2005 I have the great honour to be a pallbearer for
Stefan Besko, my neighbour of almost eighteen years. He was a true
hero, and he will be missed by the many who loved him.

Hi. I plan to be there.
I'm a regular of Calgary's TAC gaming nights. Thus far, I've been a
lurker here on EWG. I'll be leaving for Edmonton very shortly for a
few days and thought I'd fit in a visit to EWG this Tuesday evening.
Bruce
I'm available for Tuesday. See you there.

This event repeats on the first Tuesday of every month.
The next reminder for this event will be sent in 2 days, 4 minutes.

Okay, Loren is planning a D-Day miniature game for Tuesday, March 1.
He promises 1000 6mm minis and whatnot.
Who's planning on coming?
If the numbers are large, we may be able to get a second game going.
Bob
Thanks Bob,
Twenty five linear feet... hmmm maybe I could sell some on the net? :)
There is always plenty of room under the bed, as long as the dog
doesn't chew on it. :)
No, you're right. A two piece jig with a couplea nuts and bolts might
work fine if I can find some pink foam thin enough otherwise 1' x 2'
tiles of pink foam will do

Kenneth,
The Calgary group (TAC) has a yahoo group at
http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/TabletopArmies/ .
I'm not sure fthe foam cutter guys could do 1x1 foot (probably) but
would you want the minimum order of 25 linear feet of it (giving you
600 or more square feet of hexes at a half inch thick)? My wife
would freak out but perhaps yours is more understanding.
Maybe a two-piece jig and a sharp exacto knife (or hot wire cutter)
on the pink/blue foam you can get for siding would yield a more
manageable number of hexes.
That said, the foan was okay. The edges of the hexes are a bit
rougher than GHQs but the hexes are actually a hex so perhaps that
offsets the slight imperfection.
No idea about 28mm stuff but I don't get out much.

****** I'm on a calgary-based list that includes some of their
regular crew that's based on Warhammer Ancients battles. It's at:

Might be a place to start.

Thanks Guy!
How dense is the material, are you planning on using pink or blue on
top of it or is it dense enough on it's own to be used for scupting
landforms, such as 28mm escarpments (well scaled down to look good on a
table, but still fairly tall)?

Hi Kenneth
The styrofoam columns came out well but the're not made from pink or
blue foam, the're made from high density bead foam (actually a light
green in colour). I think that the company could probably cut 1 foot
hexes because I saw round colums that were bigger then that at the
shop.

Hi all,
Starting to plan a traveling Tobruk 'Panzers in the Minefield' themed
game in 28mm to be ready by late summer on a small (4x4, or max 4x6)
table, and was thinking of using 1 ft. hexes for terrain. May I ask how
those hexes turned out? Anyone know if they'll do 'em as large as 1ft
(flat to flat).
Kenneth
Has anyone noticed if there is anyone running WWII games in 28mm at any
of the western cons. Is 15mm and micro armour the only scales on the go
for this time period? If you have seen games in this scale, do you
remember where?
Kenneth
That would be great. Hope you make it. :-)

Hi,
I'm thinking about making the long drive across the prairies... :)
I'll keep you posted.

Just a quick update.
The Sentry Box and Alberta Hobby Centre have come through with door
prizes. The Sentry Box has quite a collection of things they're
holding onto for us while AHC will get specific once we have the
program nailed down. I'm going to move onto Great West Hobbies and
Hobby Warehouse next. And perhaps Warp.
We've also had some success in drumming up games. It looks like the
schedule will shake out like this:
In each of the two four-hour blocks (morning and afternoon), there
will be 1 4-hour game and 3 sets of 2 two-hour games. With four
people per game (roughly) this will allow us to accommodate 28
people at any one time (plus the host who may or may not be
playing). With a total of 14 games over the course of the day, there
should also be something for everyone.
To date, we've got the following:
Ken Blackley will run one or two medieval games
Guy will run a ECW game using piquet
Kevin will run a WW2 micro armour game with rules he's created
Kerry Anderson will do a board game
Bob will run something aerial (WW1/2 planes I think)
Bruce indicated he's in for one or two sessions
The confirms games mean we've got baout half the spots filled up.
I've also invited our friends in central and southern Alberta to
host some games. And some guys associated with AHC may run something-
-still working on that.
Any other volunteers? Someone suggested a DBA mini-tourney (maybe a
four hour block with a roundrobin and playdown). Any interest in
playing or hosting that?
Bob
Sounds good, count me in and give us a shout when the site goes up!

PS which rules for the air combat game?

Loren has kindly offered to run a massive D-Day game on Tuesday, March 1. It encompasses the entire British sector (3 beaches), covered 4x8 feet and has over 1000 minis on the board--mostly 6mm troops and a variety of ships.
He promises simple rules and the demo game he played two weeks past was quite the spectacle. Whose coming?

....Thanks for your emails and work on getting door prizes. I'll go put
the squeeze on Gord at the Snetry Box since I just brought his dream
of retirement appreciably closer this past weekend.
I'm not sure about a 28mm WW2 event (got rid of my 25/28s recently).
Depend son what people are offering to run. Are you offering?!?! :)
I'm also not sure if this will be an annual event--in part that
likely depends on hnow it goes and whether anyone is interested on
another event next year.
thanks
Bob.....
Hi Bob,
Sorry don't have enough figures to put one on. Scouting around for
Vincent Conners of 1:56 AGNM fame who might try to get into the dealer
room of some cons out west here depending on how much interest there is
in 28mm.
K
