Deutchland! Deutchland!.......I'll side with the Germans again if
possible. Bob did you mention Vickers Tanks!? yuck! Hopefully we
Germans will put those puppies to bed early in the scenario :)
I plan to be there as well Bob. Maybe I'll take Brits again, see if
I can redeem myself! ;)

Wiley,
Since the Tuesday game tends to be a pick-up (i.e., we don't know
how many or who will show up from week to week) having everyone just
draw their unit at the start of the game is about the only way to do
it.
Specificlaly, once we see who shows up, I'll rejig the sides to
ensure the game is balanced (more or less!) and then chance takes
over on which specific troops you get.
I think this week will see an evener distribution of troops as we'll
come prepared for up to 10 guys (Bruce and I had expected only 4-6
last week so 9 was a bonus!).
In terms of who plays German and who plays Brits, we can keep the
same sides (and add in new folks as they arrive) or we can switch it
up--whatever everyone wants.
Bob
You guys seem to have everything running smoothly here, good to see!
And Bob I think I may be working on beating your 1 rolling, if last
week is any indication!
A question about the next game, are you going to do a random army
selection like last week? I think it worked out well enough, not
knowing who you would be until you chose.
Wiley
Richard,
Welcome! We hope to see you out some time. If last week was any
indication, this year will be a lot of fun. Better if I could stop
rolling so many 1's, but that's got to come around sometime. Right?
Bob
I see Bruce has uploaded the basic Sealion campaign document we're
working from in the Files scetion for anyone who is interested.
On the 18th, we'll be doing the second scenario. It will deviate
slightly from the OOB listed in the scenario document as we have
more players than we'd thought so I've had to up the troop numbers a
bit for everyone to get a good-sized unit.
Perhaps anyone who is planning on coming could let me know and then
I'll be sure tto have neough little me?
The rules will be Blitzkrieg Commander (www.blitzkrieg-
commander.com) and you can download a "lite" version for free if you
want to have a sneak peak. These are fast-play rules and everyone
will pick them up quickly (i'll bring some play aids.
The troops are painted and based--now only a few items of terrain to
complete and we're ready to go. The board will be about 6x5 and is
fairly good lookig. It includes water, a beach, rail line, a
significant area of hills at the back edge of the board, three towns
and lots of fields and trees. I will try to post a couple of photos
on the photos section shortly.
The troops are all 6mm--mostly GHQ but some others mixed in. Bruce
has kindly offered to supplement a bit and will be bringing some
cool little Vickers Mk IVs (please bring 8 instead of 4 like I
asked!). There will also be a couple of surprises for each side.
Of course, the room is also open for other types of gaming. Hjalmar--
will you be heading up the flat earth society?
Bob
Unfortunately, I have yet to find the opportunity to come down to
the hall; however, it is good to see a group set up for the Edmonton
area. Hopefully in a week or two I will try to join in full time.

Ken B.
Kenneth,
The terrain and figures are Bruce McFarlane's--15mm figures and his
very versatile new terrain. The players are in the new remarkable
1:1 scale (some of us are even overscale...).
The game on the 18th will be 6mm with my spiffy new terrain. Well,
some old, some new, some borrowed, some blue (water).
Looking forward to meeting you in April.
Bob
I have posted some photos of and English Civil War engagement

Hello Bob,
Calgary here, thanks for the link to the TAC group.
If you want to use any of the links I've posted to our group feel
free to do so.
Ray, in Calgary
I've added some of my favourite retail and personal wargaming links
to the "Links" scetion but certainly my list isn't all inclusive.
Feel free to add what you think appropriate.

medieval? Riddle me that.

Hi Guys!
I'm here!
Hopefully, I'll more time to actually get out to the meetings this
year!
But what is this?
"This is a place for gentlemen and ladies, so let's have no rudeness,
name-calling or anything else that is otherwise completely acceptable
on the net!"
What heresy is this? Does this include having to be nice to that pond-
scum-sucking, Hab-kissing cretin McFarlane???:-)
He's just lucky there's no hockey this year. It's all that keeping
his team out of the basement.

I've added some shots from Tuesday January 4th as we launched our
Sealion campaign with 9 players. Perhaps Bob P got some better shots
than I?
I think the pre-game shots of the players (note the saurkraut in
Guy's confident smile and worried look on Loren's face) are highly
telling!
Must now go make some terrain for January 18th. German players
prepare to get wet!

areas of interest, etc. This will replace the members page on the
old website--feel free to fill out a record.
Bob
Guy (and everyone),
I just sent 32 invitations using the Invite function--I only dropped
one name (guy from Ohio). Slick! Let's see who pops up this coming
week!
Thanks again for doing this.

If you notice the key word invite in the list that allows you to
enter a list of email addresses and then format a covering letter to
send along with each invitaion. If you want to do that be my guest.

There are two obvious methods one are the member profiles associated
with yahoo member.
Or to use the data base function to create a table for members to
enter data into.

Sounds Good
Sean from the Sentry Box just let me know they'r ehaving a huge sale.
10% off everything plus discounts on discontinued lines and he's
trying to move out a bunch of old micro armour at some deep
discounts.
You can look at their catalogue at www.sentrybox.com or contact them

Bob
Guy--thanks! I actually made the change as I experimented with the
untold power of my moderator status. Very cool!
I'm not sure how we go about inviting people to join. Just an email
to everyone indictaing the yahoo group has been created? Or is this
another of the awesome powers of the moderators? In either case, let
me know and I'd be happy to do that if you're pressed for time.
In terms of the membership data, I've seen othe rgroups create a
database where people can enter their own information (name,
contact, games preferences, etc.). Woudl that work here? Or maybe
there is a better way.
I will try to upload some of my pics from the Crossfire game last
week.
Bob
I have made you a co-owner so you will have all privileges to modify
the group. As to what now we should make some decisions on how we
want thigs to appear in the welcome message and we either need and
membership download into text or manually copy over the membership
list and send out messages to every one to join.
Guy et al,
I was just about to do this myself so good on you!
One thing I noticed on the intro was that you say we game ion the
1st and 2nd tuesday; actually it is the 1st and 3rd Tuesday. Perhaps
I can edit this myself?
I'm very excited about this! What are the next steps?
Bob
