I also started since day one on the launch of the PS2 version, from then I been
playing thru my pc and for the last couple of years on the Xbox 360. The latest
game update is now very cheap 19.99 for the X360 and even 14.99 for the pc and
comes with all the expansions. And there is three downloable expansion on the
making the first one of the three is now available. But overall they had added
so much new stuff and new jobs. I'm on the Phoenix server since 2003 (5 years)
my name is Vipsphinx you can look for me and I'll help you get started again. If
you want to level up fast I suggest to level red mage from the basic jobs then
for subjob white mage. So when you get to level 30 go for the Paladin, I kid you
not, I raise Paladin to level 20 in a couple of days since they are so needful.
Another big change is that now they do level sync so if you are level 10 (or
whatever) and I'm level 70, the leader of the party can sync to the lowest level
member. And you get to keep your weapons, clothes, & items. But, obviously you
abilities will adjust according to the level.
I hope this info has been helpful for you, please let me know if you have any
questions at all.

Hi!
I thought I'd start my contribution by uploading the desktops I use on
my computers. I uploaded about 8 to 9 MB of file (50+ files).
On my computers, I use a program to automatically change my desktop.
This allows me to have these FFXI desktops show up and I can see them
all equally. The program I use is Automatic Window Changer -

The June version update has arrived! With a plethora of changes and improvements across the board, there is bound to be something for everyone. Here's a quick recap of some of the items we've introduced thus far: - New missions for the Wings of the Goddess storyline. - New campaign elements such as additional medals and ranks. - Battle-related adjustments to elements such as jobs and merit points. - New content for fellows and chocobo raising. And a whole lot more!
We would like to report the termination today of multiple accounts held by players involved in the usage of third-party tools or cheats, or engaged in RMT (Real Money Trading) activities.
Based on the results of our investigation, around 4,220 PlayOnline accounts were terminated while around 1,370 accounts were temporarily suspended. Additionally, we have increased the number of mass bannings against certain PlayOnline violations in order to prevent illegal acts.
Details of the violations are as follows:
- Usage of tools that allow enhanced character movement. Week of May 25, Approx. 180 cases Week of June 1, Approx. 410 cases Week of June 8, Approx. 350 cases Week of June 15, Approx. 250 cases Week of June 22, Approx. 150 cases
- Usage of tools that circumvent game mechanics with respect to the timing of ability use, etc. in certain areas or at points where Notorious Monsters appear. June 24, Approx. 40 cases
- Using cheats to automatically repeat a particular action. Week of May 25, Approx. 70 cases Week of June 1, Approx. 200 cases Week of June 8, Approx. 320 cases Week of June 15, Approx. 230 cases
- Gil and item exchange for real world money. Week of May 25, Approx. 160 cases Week of June 15, Approx. 230 cases Week of June 22, Approx. 700 cases
- Instances of areas or monster monopolization. May 29, Approx. 290 cases June 12, Approx. 500 cases June 19, Approx. 280 cases
- Usage of synthesis and auction houses for RMT activities. June 3, Approx. 280 cases June 16, Approx. 280 cases June 23, Approx. 650 cases
- Accounts from people that were previously confirmed to have RMT connections, or that had violated the user agreements but re-subscribed to PlayOnline. June 24, Approx. 40 cases
The termination of these accounts has led to the removal of approximately 1.8 billion gil from circulation.
We would like to remind players that as well as adversely affecting game balance, the use of third-party tools or cheats can also have consequences that are not immediately obvious, such as introducing damaging viruses, and comprising the security of private account details. Usage of third-party tools will not be tolerated within FINAL FANTASY XI, and we will continue to severely penalize any players found to be in violation of the PlayOnline Member Agreement.
As we continue to ensure a fun and balanced environment for FINAL FANTASY XI, we hope that our players enjoy the game as it was intended and take care to avoid involvement in activities that violate the PlayOnline Member Agreement.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding.
In seven days, FFXI will anounce the lucky winners for the Mog Bonanza Lotto. I registered very late, about 5 minutes before the regs. ended so I was able to get at least 9 tickets for my main character. That's what I get to wait for the last minute.
Anyways, for those who bought tickets how did came up with them? I use special dates, aniversaries, bdays, even the numbers that came on my fortune cookie! hehe.
They are giving alot of prices, but, to bad I can't use my gil since I'm
getting ready to fight Maat for the level cap 70.
Do you think I can fight him with my SMN at level 68? Or should I wait
till I get level 70?

Welcome to our group! Feel free to check around. I'm on the Phoenix server since day one, if you decide to join this server, look for me, add me as a friend "Vipsphinx" I have a linkshell "TheWhiteMob' so you are welcome to join also.
Hey everyone,
Just joined the group, so saying my hello's. Just reinstalled the game
after not playing for a LONG time. I played when it originally came out
for like 2 yrs. Then have been on WoW forever, and now comming back. I

Final Fantasy XI's 6th anniversary is just around the corner, and to celebrate this happiest of occasions, the Mog House Management Union (MHMU) has decided to hold the very first Mog Bonanza event, kupo! We moogles have spared no effort to ensure that this inaugural event is a runaway success, with the prizes prepared bound to have even the most appallingly affluent adventurers drooling uncontrollably, kupo! This is the chance to turn your Vana'dielian dreams into reality and become the envy of all fellow adventurers by winning stupendous amounts of gil, or super-rare items of legend like the Kraken Club...and more!
How to Play
The Mog Bonanza is a number-guessing game in which you pick a five-digit number of your choice, kupo. Playing is simple! Purchase a Mog Bonanza marble[1] from a Bonanza Moogle at designated areas[2], then have the vendor inscribe your desired five-digit number on it, kupo. If you can't decide on a number, we moogles will be more than happy to pick one for you. The winning numbers will be announced at a later date, so sit tight and leave the rest to Lady Luck, kupo!
The conditions for winning are as follows: Rank 1 prize: all five digits. Rank 2 prize: last four digits. Rank 3 prize: last three digits. Rank 4 prize: last two digits. Rank 5 prize: last digit.
ª Up to 10 Mog Bonanza marbles can be purchased per character level 5 or above. You can have the same number inscribed on multiple marbles. This will mean bigger earnings should you have a winning number, kupo.
Price: 1000 gil. Mog Bonanza marbles available for purchase from May 16 till May 28. The winning numbers will be announced on June 30. Prizes available for collection from July 2 till July 31.
Prize List
Each Mog Bonanza marble with a winning number entitles you to an item of your choosing from the list of prizes in the corresponding rank. Click Here to check the Prize List

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is an excellent game, let's work together to keep it that way!
Earlier this week, a new promotional video for the Wings of the Goddess expansion pack was revealed at the Tokyo Game Show. For all of you who could not make it over to Japan for the special event, we've posted the footage on our official site. Click here to view exclusive images of new monsters, areas, one of the new jobs, and much, much more.
This is really important for those who had been asking for a way to transfer characters to another worlds including their levels, items, etc...
Vip
The World Transfer service is a new FINAL FANTASY XI feature that allows you to transfer your characters, including all their equipment, items, job levels, and skills, from their current World to another of your choosing. Now you can enjoy the FINAL FANTASY XI experience in any open World!
You may access the World Transfer service from the following location:
PlayOnline Viewer Service & Support top page -> Membership -> Purchase Optional Services
A single World Transfer incurs a fee of $25.00. With the purchase of a World Transfer, you may simultaneously transfer any and all FINAL FANTASY XI characters (up to 16) associated with the same PlayOnline ID to the Worlds of your choice.
FINAL FANTASY XI (PlayStation 2, Windows, Xbox 360)
A single World Transfer incurs a fee of $25.00. *Up to 16 characters can be simultaneously transferred
* When simultaneously transferring multiple characters associated with the same PlayOnline ID, the fee will incur a single payment of $25.00, regardless of the number of characters and their destinations.
* The above fee that is incurred will be charged on the following month. After the World Transfer is complete, no additional monthly service fees will be incurred.
* Fees will be settled with the payment method registered with PlayOnline.
POINTS OF CONCERN
Character Name Addresses
For those using the PlayOnline Plus Character Name Address service, your current character name addresses will be invalidated once a World Transfer has been conducted. After transferring, a character name address including your new World and character name will be automatically acquired. Please perform the appropriate settings after you have acquired this address. For information on how to configure your character name address, please consult the information here.
* If you are using a payment method that continues automatically such as a credit card, even if your character name address is invalidated, you will continue to be billed $3 a month because the associated Content ID has not been cancelled.
Character Name Changes
If a character with the same name exists in the World you transfer to, you will be asked to change your name when logging in to FINAL FANTASY XI.
* We cannot inform you beforehand whether or not a name change will be necessary.
* When a name change is necessary, the character name on the Character Selection screen will appear in yellow. Please follow the instructions on the screen.
* Your Friend List and other data will not be lost as a result of the name change.
World Overcrowding/Underpopulation Issues
If, as a result of the introduction of the World Transfer service, the number of characters in a World grows too large or too small, we may look for people to transfer to a different World. We may also consider dividing the overcrowded World or combining underpopulated Worlds. In such a case, we may ask for the cooperation of characters who transferred to such a World through the World Transfer service in transferring to another World. At such a time, we will not be able to make any refunds or World Transfer service cancellations. Thank you for your understanding.
The Linkshell Community
For players participating in a community on the "Linkshell Community" website, after transferring to another World, your character's image will become a darkened silhouette on each screen and your character data will be erased. To participate again in the Linkshell Community, you will have to establish a new community or join an already established community in the same way you did when you first joined the Linkshell Community.
WORLD TRANSFER FAQ
Can I transfer my characters as many times as I want? The World Transfer service can be used any number of times and, while there are no restrictions regarding the number of times each character can be transferred, you may not use this service under the following conditions: - 90 days have not passed since the date of the previous World Transfer. - 90 days have not passed since the first purchase of a FINAL FANTASY XI Content ID.
Are there any items or data I can't take with me to my new World? Linkshells, linkpearls, and pearlsacks cannot be taken with you in a World Transfer and will be automatically discarded. However, if you possess a linkshell, you can receive a "new linkshell" (unopened) for free in your new World. Also, the following items will be automatically discarded when you perform a World Transfer, so please carry them in your character's inventory before performing a World Transfer. - Items and gil listed as "sent" on the delivery service NPC's delivery window - All items in your Mog House's delivery box - All items being sold at an auction house
What happens to a linkshell if the linkshell's leader performs a World Transfer? The linkshell will no longer have a leader, but can still be used as usual. Actions that only a leader can perform such as changing linkpearls into pearlsacks or changing the linkshell message will no longer be accessible. I can't perform a World Transfer. During FINAL FANTASY XI server maintenance, World Transfers cannot be performed. Please refer to "Server Status" on the official FINAL FANTASY XI site to verify whether the server is up or not.
Can I transfer a character that I forgot to transfer? If it is still within a week of your World Transfer, you may still transfer an additional character. After verifying there are no forgotten items in your delivery box or at the auction house, please make a GM call or contact the Square Enix Information Center.
I accidentally selected the wrong World. We are afraid that once a World Transfer has been conducted, we cannot cancel the transfer, change the transfer details, or make any refunds. If you would still like to transfer to another World, please purchase another World Transfer after 90 days have passed since the date of purchase of your previous World Transfer.
I invited a friend to the same World as me with the Vana'diel Adventurer Recruitment Program's Gold World Pass. From now on, can we receive special items even if we are in different Worlds? If the inviting party and the invited friend are in different Worlds, they will not be able to receive special items. However, if both characters have transferred to the same World, they will be able to receive special items.
With the flood of new screenshots and information that hit the community a brand new spark of speculation was ignited. Everyone was excited to see the new areas, monsters, and character designs that debuted during the conference. Players are really starting to speculate about time travel now as more of the screenshots began to reveal new tidbits about what direction Wings of the Goddess will be going. The community really erupted when the development team confirmed that the expansion would feature new jobs. Hundreds of posts started popping up all over the Premier Site forums discussing what jobs everyone would like to see in Wings of the Goddess.
Pikko [Allakhazam] and Ganiman [FFXIclopedia] had a chance to sit down with Hiromichi Tanaka (FINAL FANTASY XI Producer), Koichi Ogawa (Director of Treasures of Aht Urhgan/Wings of the Goddess), Sage Sundi (Global Online Producer) and Yasu Kurosawa (North American Producer) during a recent trip to E3. They both asked some great questions and got a few juicy tidbits out of the team regarding some hot topics. Check out the links to their interviews above!
If this past week is any indication of the current anticipation level then we can't wait to see how excited everyone gets as new information is released in the coming months!
Hello everyone, I was invited to this group awhile back and for some
reason never got around to joining. Better late than never!
Anyhow, I play FFXI on the Siren and Asura servers. I'm currently
working on a budding Linkshell and shamelessly using it for my online
summer English writing project. Hehehe, always good to mix fun into
business!
On Siren my characters are:
- Toadie
- Anuran
- Sabaki
- Rhae
On Asura my one character is: Anuran
I have running profiles of all these characters at my LiveJournal at
http://toadie-odie.livejournal.com/tag/character+profile
Feel free to check it out and drop me a line if you want to hook up
for a gaming session sometime.
^___^
Yes as tough as it seems, reality got me. My linkshell (TheWhiteMob) is out of bussiness, my group split out and went their own way. Even though I'm not breaking my Linkshell, it is time to move on. So if you anyone knows of a good linkshell let me know. I hava a decent profile and ranks in the game. I'm on Phoenix Server and looking for a new linkshell home.
just a quick news before we start dicussing about dungeonds of FFXI
we dont want to loose our favorite games dont we? i love this game as
mch as i love baseball.. but hey guys have u heard about this, MLB
attorneys are arguing that online fantasy baseball companies cannot
operate without paying them a license fee to compensate players for
the use of their names. What this would mean is that we fantasy
players may have to ante up.
we must help ourselves to save our games from these extra charges..
