WELCOME TO THE INN

Greetings, friends and fellow companions, and welcome!

This month, we've got some exciting new Dragonlance gaming and novel
products to discuss, one of which is by a good friend of mine. Plus
updates on the book club, and the latest from the Nexus.

So grab your hoopaks, my friends. The portal to adventure awaits!

TASSLEHOFF'S MAP POUCH: THE AGE OF MORTALS
When Sovereign Press decided to do a map product, they figured that
nobody could do a map like a kender. So they recruited Sean
Macdonald, aka Kipper Snifferdoo from Kencyclopedia.com!

Dragonlance.com has posted a preview of the map, the Lake of Death,
in which you can see the silhouette of Beryl. There's also an
article by Sean where he explains (in kender fashion) what maps
you're going to see.

Guys, you're going to love this. Sean did a fantastic job on the
maps. This will be the best map product since the Dragonlance
Atlas, and it totally blows the old Trail Map away.

NOVEL NEWS
The big release right now is Lord of the Rose, the first book in the
Rise of Solamnia trilogy by Douglas Niles. Wizards of the Coast has
posted a character profile on Jaymes Markham, Lord of the Rose
wallpaper, an interview with Douglas Niles, and a sample chapter
from the book (see the Nexus' news section for details). This book
has caused much discussion on the boards, so be sure to check it
out.

Coming in April will be the paperback version of Tides of Blood.
It's Richard Knaak and chalk full of minotaur goodness. I highly
recommend this book.

Plus, the highly anticipated Blades of the Tiger, book one of the
Taladas Chronicles. Be sure to grab this series. Not only is it
written by Chris Pierson, this will be the first time that the
continent of Taladas will be detailed in the novels.

NEXUS NEWS
We've had quite a number of updates on the Nexus, including a page
dedicated to the Dragonlance comic books by DC Comics! We will have
more information on the Legend of Huma comics in the near future.

Plus, Paladin has generated a Dragonlance Name Generator. Thanks to
Ben Jacobson for his assistance.

You will also want to check out Sean Macdonald's campaign journal
for his Ancestor Stone campaign. This will be a handy tool for
dungeon masters and is just fun to read.

FAN Q&A's
We recently conducted a fan interview with Mary Herbert. I've
posted an edited transcript on Dragonlance.com.

I'm working on getting a couple of other fan Q&A's going, including
Matt Stawicki around the first weekend of April, and Douglas Niles
towards the end of April. Watch the Nexus for details.

WEASEL'S LUCK CHARACTER STATS
Dragonlance.com has also posted stats for the characters from
Weasel's Luck. Be sure to check that out.

GREETINGS FROM THE BOOK CLUB, by Joshua Stewart
Major news first - Last month the book club was most unfortunate to
loose someone. Nova, co-founder of the DLBC, sadly stepped down from
his post this past month. It seems that life was weighing heavily on
Nova and something had to give. The staff wishes him the best in all
his endeavors. Just be sure to keep the kinder out of your brief
case buddy.

Unfortunately Nova's retirement left the club a bit short-handed. So
Trampas looked to the club's own members for his replacement.
Darcwulf, has been the DLBC's foremost poster for some time now, and
has shown a real affinity for the discussions. So congratulations
Darcwulf, and remember the new moderators always buy the first
round.

Now onto March.

Last month the staff decided to go back to the DLBC's original
format, one book a month. Since we covered Night of Blood in
February this month's book will be:

Tides of Blood by: Richard A. Knaak.

This second installment in The Minotaur Wars trilogy follows the
story of Faros. The last remaining member of the Kaolin blood line
and the rebellion against the empire lead by General Rahm Es-Hestos.
Set during the middle of New York Times best-selling War of Souls.
Richard Knaak further develops already amazing characters while
introducing us to some new ones as well.

Richard is being a wonderful sport and has offered the club more of
his time this month. So if you have any questions or just would like
to drop him a line, be sure to drop in.

Joshua
The Book Club Guy

UNTIL NEXT TIME
Thanks, Joshua.

Actually, I owe Joshua and all of you an apology, as Joshua got the
Book Club announcement to me prior to the start of the month. I
wanted to wait, though, until there was more news regarding the Map
Pouch. I hope you will all forgive me.

Until next time, my friends, I remain humbly yours…
