WELCOME TO THE INN

Greetings, friends and fellow companions, and welcome back to the Inn
of the Last Home! It is a festive time at the Inn this year as we
celebrate Yule and the upcoming New Year.

It is a time of reflection, as we realize that 2004 marks the 20th
anniversary of Dragonlance. It is hard to imagine that this setting
that we have all loved and cherished has lasted for 20 years. We've
seen different story arcs in novels, different game systems for
games, and various other products come and go. Anyone remember the
Dragonlance board game?

For those of us on the Whitestone Council, it is also a time of
reflection. January 2004 marks our 3rd anniversary. I'm really
proud of everyone on the Council. They've done an outstanding job,
and continue to amaze me every day.

Ah, but it seems that I am reminiscing about old adventures when you
came here to learn of new ones. Fear not, for the bards and
minstrels seek to oblige.

GAMING NEWS
I'm sure the big question on everyone's mind is when some of the
overdue Dragonlance gaming products will be released. Indeed, there
have been some delays, but we have the latest on release dates.

The Dragonlance Dungeon Master's Screen has recently been released,
and should be on store shelves soon. You can also order it through
MargaretWeis.com.

Key of Destiny should be on shelves in January, and the Bestiary of
Krynn will be released in March.

The big product to watch out for this year is War of the Lance, which
should be released for GenCon 2004. War of the Lance celebrates
Dragonlance's 20th anniversary by going back to its roots, and
exploring the saga that started it all.

AGE OF MORTALS ART GALLERY!
If you're looking for a preview of Age of Mortals, or just like
perusing art on the web, be sure to check out the Age of Mortals art
gallery on Dragonlance.com! You can find this gallery at:

DRAGON MAGAZINE AND DRACONIAN FEATS
Check out Dragon magazine #315, which is in stores now. It's an
issue dedicated to classic campaign settings. Jamie Chambers has an
article on draconian player characters, and there's also an article
on Taladas! The Taladas article includes two prestige classes: the
Companion of the Dead and the Shark Cultist.

Also, check out Dragonlance.com for some draconian feats that didn't
make it in Jamie's article:

NOVEL NEWS
New releases in December include Chris Pierson's final installment of
the Kingpriest Trilogy, Sacred Fire. Tanis, the Shadow Years is also
reprinted this month.

January sees the release of Hope's Flame, part of the young reader's
adaptation of Chronicles, as well as the reprint of Richard Knaak's
The Legend of Huma.

LEGEND OF HUMA COMIC ADAPTATION
The first issue of the comic book adaptation of The Legend of Huma is
slated to be released on January 14. Be sure to grab yourself a
copy, and have your local comic book shop hold a copy for you each
month.

On a personal note, yours truly has been asked to co-write The Legend
of Huma alongside Roaring Studios editor Sean Jordan. Brian Augustyn
writes the first issue, but due to other commitments, he was unable
to continue past that point. Sean Jordan writes issue #2, and then I
hop on board to co-author with Sean starting with issue #3. I've
also functioned as a consultant for the first two issues as well.

UNTIL NEXT TIME
Next year marks the 20th anniversary of Dragonlance. It's hard to
believe. I'm not sure if anyone thought it would last this long, but
sure enough, it has.

It is you, the fans of Dragonlance, who have made this possible. It
is Dragonlance fans that continue to breathe new life into the
setting, and who refuse to let it die. In fact, it is the power of
Dragonlance fans that keeps Dragonlance thriving, so that we may all
enjoy new roads to adventure.

Happy New Year, everyone! Here's to 20 great years of Dragonlance!

Long Live the Lance!
