It is with some sadness and also with some contentness that I tell you all that I have stepped down as a GM.

It was in April 1999 that I was first hired as a GM, five years ago. Five years as a GM... to me, that seems like a really long time. At times, it has felt long. Nevertheless, I've cherished my time here, as a player and a GM.

I have truly enjoyed the friends I have made, amongst players and GMs both, and I have relished the opportunities and the things I have been able to do as part of this staff. Creating the history and the culture of this wonderful world has been a joy; bringing my vision to life in Muspar'i, a city that even before I joined staff had always been nagging at the back of my brain, was likewise wonderful. I've loved writing every one of the books I put onto the shelves of Elanthia.

PallieTherea [6:59 PM]: have really, truly enjoyed my time here, in all ways.

But it's time for me to go, which is why I have submitted my letter of resignation. It's just that time. All must end eventually.

The contest is simple: Write your best toast to the Prince for his coronation.

Send it to dr-iocanthe@... by October 20th, 2003 ? Midnight Eastern.

The winner gets to toast the Prince at his coronation! The winner and 2 runners
up will also get contest tokens good for an alteration or tattoo. This is open
to all Premium and Platinum players!

Rules:

1.Keep it simple ? 50 words or less.

2.If it isn?t polite, it isn?t going to win. This doesn?t mean you can?t be
somewhat ? sarcastic, but this is a very formal occasion, so formal speech is
expected.

3.If it is in another language than Common, I need to be able to easily verify
that the translation you provide is accurate. (Telling him in Gerenshuge to eat
goat toes might be funny, but I may arrange for a week or two in the stocks for
anyone I catch trying something like this. ;)

4.Late entries will NOT be considered. This is a quickie contest, so think
quickly and send quickly!

5.One entry per account. If you have 12 accounts, feel free to enter all 12 of
them.

6.Prizes are NOT transferable, so please include the name of the character you?d
like to win along with your account name and an e-mail address I can reach you
at if finding you in game proves difficult.

7.The decision of the judging panel is final and non-negotiable. While we
appreciate the chocolate and booze, they won?t help you win if your entry isn?t
the best.

8.You must be Premium or Platinum at the time of the Coronation to be eligible!

What is this? We're going to draft a guide for new players on what alterations are, how they are done, and, if you get lucky enough to have one, some tips on what to get and how to negotiate your perfect "alteration."

Send your entry in care of me, Helena, at dr-helena@.... Write "Alteration Guide Contest" in the subject heading and follow the content instructions as stated above (a single paragraph about how fashion/alterations have impacted you and 3 pieces of advice for a newcomer).

We're accepting entries until midnight on September 26th. :)

The winner will be invited to work with Francke on this guide (adding the player perspective) and will receive fabulous prizes, including some quality altering time with Francke himself!

For the purpose of LTBs, only *continuous* years since the benefits came out count. Meaning that if you were premie for 1 year before the benefits came out, then stopped being premie for a month, then went back to being premie for 2 years, then the benefits came out, you would have only been counted as being premie for 2 years.

However, if you went and backpayed for that month that you weren't premie, then you would be premie for 3 years and that first year would count towards your LTBs.

Did that make any sense or am I just confusing you more? <g>

All of your previous time is gone unless you choose to backpay the entire amount covering the time you have been gone. The only allowances I've seen made concerning this are for military personnel, and if that is the case, you will need to contact Simutronics by phone for them to instruct you in what you need to do.

Greetings all!! Finally the Temple Hill Housing area is done, ready and out to
the public. This started out as an idea a few years back and through many hands
it has finally been completed by me with much help from GM Loriene and GM
Meakah. To tell the truth this area has caused me to curse often. I am sure it
will lead to more. You will notice it is mostly made up of cottages. The reason
for this is that they are made from stones from the old temple. They must remain
stone cottages. There are some other types of homes but not many. Once the area
has been out a bit I will go going around to make sure they stay stone cottages.
If you have questions feel free to post. You might see some of the homes that
are claimed fancied up a bit after the fact. This will be totally random. There
are a LOT of homes, customization of each isn't going to happen. :) Now with all
that, I hope you enjoy this housing area. It has some really cool stuff stuck in

Rather than ask people to represent cities that weren't their own, we've decided
to let each person represent the city they liked best.

The participants from the winning city will of course receive the adulation of
the populace, the opportunity to display their exquisite style, and some small
token of esteem from the Estate Holder's Council.

The voting public will have the opportunity to sign their names to a list for
each city. Signing a vote list will remove them from any other lists they may be
on, so there will be one vote per person.

The Amusement Pier will be open to all, so be sure to invite all your friends to
see the sights, play the games, and vote for the city they love the best!

Well,

I was premium for about two and a half years. I cancelled my service and recently got it reopened, hoping I could gain some benefit for the nearly $900.00 dollars I gave to Simutronics to use their product. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case and I am a bit upset but I'll live.

Being a "continuous" premium member is purely aesthetic, especially in the face of the fact that membership is based on numerical days. Days as premium should be . . . well . .. days as a premium subscriber. What irks me about all of this is that my premium days were slashed from their previous number to thirty days when I reopened my account.

All in all, I feel that the LTB's only benefit one type of premium customer -- the ones who've continuously been premium. This is good but I wish they perhaps had a tent for those who have been premium customers but for -- one reason or another -- had to pause their service.
