Dots and Spots and Cycles and ... Cycles   Message List

As per usual, I've been avoiding doing the font-spotting posts unless something
interesting comes up ... right now Cumberland fonts are plastered all over
Subway restaurants (in some kind of promotion ... unlicensed usage) ... and at
Wal-Mart on low-priced Spanish-language mystery novels (unlicensed usage) and
the usual. But this one ... this one I like :)

... I'm not a cyclist myself; I just really think the font was used well in this
design, especially pairing it with dot-screened graphics _and_ faux spot-red
that way (the way it was originally intended, on both counts, since Fly From
Evil's graphic design is heavy with both dot-screen and faux spot-red). Much
less jarring than that book for teenage girls that used the same font in hot
pink ...

And yeah, I'm babbling in part because I'm bummed about the passing of Gygax. I
guess stuff like that makes me feel a little isolated ... one more piece of the
community gone, and a very important piece at that. The Dungeon Master himself.
>sigh<

So, with that in mind, I wanted to say hi, and without a new release to bug you
about (yet!) that's all I got. If I had a local games club I'd be somewhere
toasting the man's memory (oddness and all) with a pint of something, so instead
I'm babbling about fonts again.

Hope this finds you well. It finds me ... maudlin, I guess, but with enough to
work on to keep me distracted.

Best -
