A couple of weeks ago, a customer emailed reporting trouble ordering from
HyperBooks ... the trouble being, HyperBooks wasn't there. I assumed it was just
a temporary outage and said as much.
But that was a couple of weeks ago, and my records show that I haven't had any
HyperBooks orders in the last few months. Now that, all by itself, is strange
but not _hugely_ strange ... these days, comfort with PayPal seems to be about
98% universal among the kind of folks who'd have any interest in gaming fonts or
PDFs, so nearly everyone orders that way. I didn't notice.
But this leaves me concerned about Terry himself. If he were going to just shut
down, he would have emailed. If anyone has any news about Terry, please drop me
a line privately at
sjohn@...
In the meantime, I'll be removing the HyperBooks link from the ordering page
sometime in the next day or so. I hope it's temporary ... as long-time
hangers-on know, HyperBooks was an important part of the foundation of
Cumberland 10 years ago (yikes - ten years ago ...) when he decided (after some
doubts) to accept HexPaper as an item for sale (he was about to reject the idea,
when he mentioned it in passing to a friend of his, who immediately wanted to
buy it).
So, here's hoping he's okay, and that HyperBooks will return soon in some form,
and that it's just some kind of trouble with his ISP ...
And here's hoping this finds _you_ well, too!
