Forming a Beta Squad for the new Encounter Critical Release   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #247 of 257 |

The next release for Encounter Critical (mid-December if all goes well) is an
old-school text adventure (z-machine format) plucked from an alternate 1979,
where there was no Infocom, there was no Scott Adams, and the hallmark of the
medium was mindless combat and pseudo-archaic prose ... That, and beating your
enemies to death with a Dwarf held by his good leg.

The alpha-stage bughunting is nearly at an end, so it's time to assemble some
testers for the Beta. Basically, the testing process consists of (A) playing the
game (B) keeping an automated transcript of the session and (C) sending me the
transcript so I can comb through it looking for things to fix and improve.

If you're interested, drop me a line off-list at sjohn@... -- thanks!
