Hello everybody,
For those of you who want to change the maps with the RMG, we have
added RMG templates on Campaign Archive II. They are in zip format, so
when you extract to the Heroes3/data folder, be sure to rename the
text to rmg.

Hey guys, Great site, i may not have looked hard enough but I'm trying
to understand erm's etc. Could someone provide a "walkthrough" mainly
descibing where to place files in the directory erm files and their
readme's go to ? in the program files. It would also allow people to
tidy up their program files so the right files are in the right places.

It's just an idea and I know it's one of those where someone else has
to do the work, but regardless of the outcome thanks for your efforts.

Hi John,
Welcome to the Archives. I believe we have something like that over on the WoG Map Archives. If yu have'nt joined that group, you'll have to to get the erm walkthrough that Pol has put up in the files section. I hope this helps you.

Hello fellow fans,
We have added a bunch of new maps to this section and all other
sections as well. To find the new maps, go to the Files section, and
over in the mid-right section, check out the dates. Anything since June
2007 should give you the indication for new maps that are up, as they
have not yet been included in the Database yet. All told, in all
Archives we have included over 200 new maps for your enjoyment. Enjoy!

Hello again Steve and Pol,
While waiting for my previous message to be posted I did some more
browsing here. Lo and behold I found the unbelievably descriptive
Database. Phenomenal job Pol!
So ignore my earlier question about needing to download all the maps.

Now that I know how to easily find which maps can be played as allies,
here's a better question: Which ones should we play first? (i.e. What
do you think the most impressive allied maps are?)

Thanks again,
Amy

Thank you Steve & Pol for such an awesome web site and for all your
hard work in providing maps to all of us Heroes lovers!
My husband and I have been playing Heroes since '99 and thoroughly
love it but had quit playing for the past year or so because we got
bored playing the same old scenarios over and over. I got the link
to your yahoo group map archives (Thank you Steve) at
heroescommunity.com. Here's my question...we for the most part only
like to play allied games (us against however many computer
players). In the "files" section of each of your Maps Archives, the
allied info isn't given (i.e. single or multiplayer and number of
teams, etc.) in the description of the maps. Am I going to have to
download every file before knowing whether or not it's an allied
map? From what I could tell you have probably close to 2000 maps
between all the different archives and we don't get much time to
play the game together due to his work schedule, so I sure hope
that's not the case.

Also, are all your maps here tested? (i.e. Someone has played them
through and knows they can be beat...)

Thanks again for such a great site!

Hi AMy,
Thanks for the kind words about these Archives. Pol and I appreciate it
a lot. For Multiplayer maps, you'll have to look through the database
section and select "Teams" From there you should be able to find what
you're looking for.
Are all the maps test? These maps come from hard to find sites and from
sites that no longer exist. So, to that question, I would just have to
say, play them, and if you don't like them, select another until you
find the one or ones you like.
Happy mapfinding and enjoy HoMM3!

Hello Amy,
most of maps are tested but not all. It's too much of them so it's near to
impossible.

From what I know(And I didn't played much of allied maps, even if they are my
favourite but time is merciless.) I can recommend map "Seven" or "Sewen". It's
large allied map where you are playing against other lords and underground evil
:-p. Such you are only two the best start will be in the realms on the surface,
ie red, blue or tan and green. - This is very old map from 3DO provenience,
however it was bundled only with the AB Add-On. The "Sewen" is my slightly
modified version. If I remember you will start with a bit better heroes and one
quest was resolved to work always. This is map for a long run, first you are
being trapped in "bubble" of your kingdom and cannot get out until you will be
strong enough to beat neutral guards - and some are not meant to be beaten in
first three months, and second struggling about power is hard one, it's needed
to capture the strategic points. In my version I shorten that starting phase.
But whole map is still taking hours to be played, looks like between 5 to 12 of
real life or even more.

Because the poor AI which is pushing back and only rarely provide some challenge
I generally found such maps insufficient . Which's sad. And one more warning,
although map is only L it's constructed in "Labyrinth" way, so if you will
unfold all corridors it will be bigger than classical XL map. On the other way
is featuring "Sir Mullich" and Azure Dragons so fun is guaranted.

WBR,
Pol

PS That one required difficultyis impossible, but don't panic, it's only for AI
to providing the best challenge. Here's enough of resources, especially in river
deltas.

I think there were lots of maps there that I haven't seen here, but I

Hi Nicole,
Yes, Pol is right. Heroes Portal is still very functional. We highly recommend you go there for what maps we don't have. We have some of their maps, it's true. But we have them up for a different reason. We want to have them translated from English to Russian and vice versa.
Currently, I am working on a deal to work with Heroes Portal where they can put up some of our maps that we have in exchange we can put up some of their maps for translation purposes. I've been waiting for some feedback, but they are busy with other things right now which I can relate to.
But, yeah, Heroes Portal is perhaps the only real HoMM3 map Website left to get lots of maps from. Of course, Celestial Heavens also has a lot to choose from too, but I think that HoMM Portal is now the only place left to get tons of great maps. Our link still works to take you to HoMM Portal. I used it the other day.

Heroes Online is freely based MMORPG inspirated by H3 universe but

Hi Pol,
After all this time, I just noticed the titles of the groups, and
realized that my name only was on the title and in the description. As
you may notice, I changed the name of the groups and description to
reflect the real thing going on here. It no longer says "ByteBandit"
map archives. It now reads HoMM 3 Map Archives. I cannot change the
email address, however. But, when I get time I will also change the
link titles too. I apologize for the late changes. But I just now
realized it. Having just ByteBandit on everything is just wrong.

Has anyone ever solved this map?
(221b Baker St)

I believe it was submitted as a contest map to the Astral Wizard, a
now-defunct HOMM3 fan web site.

It seems like an excellent map, but after about a dozen attempts the
AI is just impossibly strong.

Does anyone have an effective strategy? I'm thinking that a quick
strike against the AI may be better than a slow buildup, but there is
no resurrection and armies will be in shambles when the "Prisoner
Release" occurs later in the game.

Hey regarding 221 B Baker Street HOMM3 map,
