Hmmm.
Use a missile. Program it to wait for a ship to enter
its area, assuming its using a passive sensor system
to detect ships nearby, that meets the criteria for
attack. Then roll for an attack assumign its a Green
crew that fired the missile. Simple, requires no new
rules. there are other ways. Make them pay double
for the missile (you need to jam a throw away computer
and program in there, thats the extra cost).
simple.
Dumb mines (no target sensing, discrimination or
ability to move to their target) are a real bad
mistake and have near zero ability to attack their
targets before they are detected and pose a hazard to
civilian and your military traffic near the jump point
or in orbit.
