"Im Chaos ist oppunity" Hans said in his native tongue.

He had not reckoned upon the fact his small survey team would get captured; it
was an occupational hazard when looking for trouble. The fact the ship was
having power surges and interruptions added to the effects.

Hans had only chanced getting free of that damn suspension chamber as the power
surge blew the main box and he was able to `thaw' as the capsule opened
automatically. His was the chamber on the end and as the end of a long chain
something fried.

Taking that he was not a Medical Tech he had to think of another way to get
these other four chambers open and probably before the aliens came back to see
who had gotten loose?

Hans thought for a second and looked for a small tool, anything that would help
him? Time was not on his side nor was the fact Laura was in one of those
chambers; he had known her only a short time but he did fond favor in her eyes
and she was attractive as well as attracted. Now no gentleman would leave a
damsel like that; or any damsel actually, locked like Sleeping Beauty.

The six chambers were about all that was in this small alcove sided room with a
central control grid. Hans found the only thing he could affect in this place
and it was not going to be easy. He began to dance around slightly to build up
momentum and strength, as he was about to strike he focused all his energy
through the foot.

"Erhielt, die Schlafengewohnheit zu treten." ~ Gotta kick the sleeping habit~
He yelled in loud German as he kicked through the power cable between an empty
first chamber and the wall.

The resulting jolt to him that dropped him like the preverbal bad habit was
nothing compared to the damage to the power supply. Hans lay there for a couple
of seconds before he could shake off the shock to his system. He also thanked
those Aliens for not removing his boots; he looked down at the boot and the
slightly melted part of the sole.

"My soul has been burned again I guess." Hans said while getting to his feet,
the wire hanging and spewing a few sparks.

The objective was reached; the canopy of the four chambers he wanted opened. It
would be a few more seconds until they came around but Hans had a weapon now of
sorts; short range but packs a wallop in the loose cable.

Laura was beginning to groan while her eyes fluttered open.

"Hans, w-what happened?" She asked groggy.

"We found dem." Hans went to her and helped her out of the chamber. "That little
scouting mission was a bit of a flop; we cannot get back with word on the
abductions as we are part of the abducted." His strong accent was never quite
removed. "Could say dey found us."

Laura was not in a mood for lightness.

"So what do we do?" She asked. " We are in Alien and definitely Hostile
territory?"

"We've been here before." Hans smiled and winked. "We just do what we do best."

"Disrupt and distract?" Laura was shaking her head. "WE are on an alien ship and
no map; no star ship to run to…"

"A Runabout to run to." Hans corrected. "If they had damaged it heavily or
destroyed we vould be dead." He smiled. "Dat means we have a chance to get out
provided we can find it."

"Great plan Hans, how do we find it?"

"Someone is attacking." Hans pointed out. "The enemy ov my enemy is my friend,
yes."

"Cannot be worst I hope." Laura agreed. "Any hope of weapons?"

"Two." Hans moved to the door. "You are registered as lethal weapon, and I am
not half bad or you would have left me at the station."

"Oh this is going to be good." Laura always hated Hans looking at the preverbal
`Bright Side' of things.

Hans was first one outside the door; since the poor victims were to be inside
the chambers there was no reason to lock the door. Hans cut to the right and led
Laura down the corridor.

The klaxons sounded and thus far they were in a part of the ship that was not
needed; at least there were no aliens toting weapons coming at them as they
moved. The main thrust of the attacks would be on the control centers, it was
always a good run to keep options open.

After a few moments the duo came to a small place where they could realize was a
type of elevator, and more importantly a centralized panel. This was obviously a
Communication/ Inter Ship communications system.

"How long to hot wire an intercom Hans?" Laura asked.

"Without tools, let me think." Hans said as he played with the controls, he was
quickly able to access Transmit and receive it was the channeling it that he
found hard. But he did manage to figure how to get frequency in a local bit.

"You have any good news Hans?" Laura kept scanning the corridor.

"Geöffnet sagt mich ." ~Open Says Me~ Hans commanded into the intercom.

[Acknowledged, Identity confirmed.] The Computer voice of the Runabout echoed.

"Locate source of this transmission relay directions to Runabout." Hans
requested.

It was on the same deck and about fifty meters down the corridor. Hans had
gathered no one wants to lug `cargo far' so the chambers were a storage area
near the hangar deck of sorts.

"Send auto distress with our bio…" The panel sparked and Hans had to back away.
"Guess we have to do it the hard way."

Laura sighed; she and Hans had done it that way too many times in the past.

Hans had a small but if blood around the side of his face where the sparks and
some shards had cut and singed him slightly. He appeared to be unaware as far as
his demeanor but the slight twitch of the left eye told Laura different.

"You are hurt." She said as she took a step closer.

"Better dan dead." Hans said with his German showing as always. "Dat way iz
where we need to go." He touched his temple and cheek. "You call that hurt, come
one barely bleeding. I will let you attend in the Runabout."

He took her in tow as he rushed a little quicker to the Hangar Bay.

The good thing is that there was no fighting; the bad thing is that the need was
not great since no one seemed to care about hairy humanoid things that appeared
and vanished. That would make things far more complicated.

Hans went to the nearest Communications panel and dialed eh channel for the
Runabout.

"Computer, lock two humans at this location and Site to site transport." HE
stepped back as he was not about to get sparked and singed again.

The tingling was felt but he also knew when a Transporter was not fully powered
and he was lucky to fade away.
