Oh. Hello again.   Message List

Re: [Avada_Kedavra] Oh. Hello again.

One of the other problems I've noticed in general with RPGs is that when the summer hits, the game participation level plummets.  I know in part it's because college kids are away from their computer and others go on vacation.  I mean, I hate the summer and even I spend a lot less time on the computer.  There always seems to be more to do during this time of year.  *shrug*

I'm totally willing to help out in any way I can to get this RPG up and running again.  I agree; the quality of writing in this group is amazing, and I look forward to putting out more posts with you guys. :)

And don't worry Cat, the RPG I help run has five co-mods, and we still have trouble stirring things up especially in the summertime.  Maybe the sun fries our brains.

Raises hand! I have, and I feel terrible that I have let the same thing
happen twice on a list I am meant to be running. I've also watched it happen
elsewhere.

Freeform, in the purest sense is very difficult to run, which is why I tried
for more structure in AK the second time round. It may have worked if not for
the fact that I found myself without time to pelt my players with scenarios. I
do not think that a freeform (even a structured one) can be handled by one
person. It needs two or three who can jointly move the story on, as well as
providing stimulation for one anothers ideas.

If that can be put together, whether through private e-mail or chat and then
taken to the main list then I think there could be potential for a fantastic
game that rarely encounters such dearth as AK has.

I'm not after reassurance, criticism, praise or anything like that. I'm
simply trying to be objective about this failure. If we can build something from it
then that would really please me, probably the people who came back to AK the
second time, and the more recent additions who are very much oldbies in my
opinion.

I would love to gt AK going again. There is such a lot of talent here. The
quality of writing speaks for itself ... and I mis-stated something in my last
post. I said that we were down to eight members. This is not true. My eye
caught the number of pending members rather than the number of members (which is
the twelve I hoped it would be).

Great to know you're still around, Tariq.

I was wondering what had happened here. ^_^ Well, I'm still around. I've got a few opinions on why this story seems to fizzle out so quickly, but I'm not sure,...
