Subject: World Wide D&D Game Day - DMG2
zephyrusmk
Send Email Send Email

I just wanted to remind everyone that World Wide D&D Game Day - DMG2 is
comming up in just a few weeks on Saturday the 19th. Here's a blurb on
what its about.

*"In the spirit of Dungeon Mastering, we're giving you the opportunity
to create and show off your very own adventure! Work as a team to build
encounters using the materials provided. After your team has finished,
play another team's adventure or DM the one your team created. We
provide you with everything you need -- maps, miniatures, monster stats,
and how-to instructions. Just bring your imagination, a pencil or pen,
and some dice!

Just for playing, you'll take home the pre-generated character sheet and
a miniature of the character you played. A Passage Into Mystery is a
special team-created 6th-level adventure that uses tiles from DU3 Caves
of Carnage and monsters from the Monster Manual: Legendary Evils
miniatures expansion."

*I've made arrangements for a couple of people to be on hand to GM but
if turn out is high enough the adventure is designed ... well.. by you
guys so that anyone (preferably someone with with some kind of GMing
experience) can step up and be the GM for a game. As far as the
pre-gens are concerned, it may not sound very cool but I've seen scans
of the sheets and they are pretty cool looking. If anyone participated
in the sneak-peak/survey for a re-launch of Delve Night know what these
character sheets look like.

If you plan on Attending feel free to send me an e-mail stating your
interest (or who-ever is in charge of our local RPGA Warhorn site, if
you can set this up, no need to create a judge pool). Each table
accommodates 5 players. Aprox. an hour is spent creating an Adventure
with your GM from the materials provided which include a fair selection
of creatures of varying levels, allowing for a vast array of possible
encounters. The group creates 2 encounters and then the GM takes there
adventure to another table and "they have to play it!" of course you'll
be doing the same with someone else's adventure.

I look forward to seeing as many people as possible on Saturday the 19th!

Hello, all!

MillenniumCon 12 is slowly creeping up on us. November 6th is just around the
corner. Looking at my registration page, it looks like we still have a few slots
where we need judges to step up and run some tables.

Slot 1 (Friday Afternoon): Have 5 judges. This should be enough, as the first
slot is traditionally slow.
Slot 2 (Friday Evening): Have 7 judges. FULL
Slot 3-5 (Saturday All Day WEEKEND IN THE REALMS): Have 5 judges. Need 2 more.
Slot 6 (Sunday Morning SPEC1-3): Have 3 judges. Need 4 more.
Slot 7 (Sunday Afternoon): Open gaming, as we sometimes lose the slot.

Note: SPEC1-3, while billed as a single slot adventure, will more than likely
run long. This is why it has been scheduled for Sunday morning, as the overflow
can spill over into the open gaming period (assuming we still have the
convention hall).

Given the nature of LFR and the ability to play adventures multiple times, even
after you've judged it, I will not be offering EVERY adventure as a slot 0. The
main adventures that will be slot 0'ed are the WEEKEND IN THE REALMS adventures,
SPEC1-3, and ADCP1-1 (the adventuring company mod, which will be available
during the open play slot). I will, of course, consider other requests.

There's still time to sign up as a judge (or to switch a playing slot to a
judging slot for those of you already judging). Remember that judging one slots
gets you discounted admission while two or more slots earns you free admission
to the convention. Also, the more slots you judge, the higher your priority to
pick swag from the five(!) RPGA Convention Support packages we have coming.

Please register to judge at the Warhorn site: http://warhorn.net/MilleniumCon12/

Make sure to mention judging in your registration, as player registration has
not opened up yet at the site.

Any questions? Please email me at rpga_host[atta]millenniumcon[dotta]com

Thank you,

I have been a change to organize a public playtest of a new Living
Forgotten Realms resource that would begin sometime early next year. I
would like to get an idea of how many people would be interested in
participating in this playtest and providing feedback on it. the event
would take place about 3 weeks from now (weekend of October 3rd and 4th)
and would last for aprox. 4 hours.

The playtest (from what i've been told thus far) is to support organized
play through offering Living Forgotten Realms play via mini-campaigns
with materials provided in some sort of kit. The playtest appears
utilize test kits with a portion of an adventure and sample materials.

As of this time that is the extent of what I know about this rare public
playtest opportunity. Please let me know (off-list if possible) if you
are interested in participating in this rare public Playtest opportunity.

This is a reminder that this Saturday is World Wide D&D Gameday. Come on
down and enjoy the unique format of this event spotlighting DMG2. Create
a short adventure with your GM for 6th level characters and then have
your GM run that adventure for another table and vice versa. go easy,
make it hard. Come on down and have some fun.

Event should start around 12:30 at Battleforge this Saturday. Space may
be limited so I have made arrangements to have additional tables
available on SUNDAY as well. If you missed your chance Saturday or maybe
you just want a chance to play again. there will be more room Sunday if
you want to play.

Once again Saturday AND Sunday, Battleforge, 12:30. World Wide D&D
Gameday DMG2!
Bring yourself and some Dice! Take home miniature and Pre-gen characters
provided (nice looking character sheets too) for everyone that plays. If
there is time I may attempt run a second slot both days based on attendance.

Hi all,

I will be running a home game version of the 3.5 module Expedition to
the Demonweb Pits, but converted to 4th edition D&D, and prepared for
paragon-level home play.

We are in need of one more player, preferably someone who can play a
cleric or leader-type. We will be playing the first session on Thursday
evening at my place beginning at around 6 PM.

If you are interested, please reply to me off-list and we can discuss it
further.

This module will take several sessions to complete so some scheduling
flexibility is needed.

Thanks.

When I was a young teenager, I used to spend summers at my family's
vacation home in eastern Long Island. I would buy a two-liter bottle of
Coke, fill some of it with rum, and carry it around with me all day long,
taking occasional swigs from it. All of my older cousins knew what I was
doing, but my parents were oblivious. Of course, they couldn't understand
why I refused to share my "soda" with my baby sister.

Sadly, I don't drink rum-and-Cokes any more not because of the rum, but
because of the Coke. I have to avoid the sugar and the caffeine.

On a side note, I was going to order a 12-pack of these sodas, but
shipping costs almost as much as the soda itself. So if Battleforge did
offer these, they would need to charge $4 instead of $2. Oh well.

Try a Sonic limeade and vodka, but not while driving, please!

Of course, BattleForge could order a number of cases, and save on the shipping.
Or a herd of nerds could get together and order a few cases, possibly through a
willing FLGS, and save.

I'd be willing to chip in, if it reduced the price of a 12-pack to under $24.

I've received more info on the Living Forgotten Realms Public Playtest
offering.

The offering as I've mentioned is to be part of a Mini-Campaign
offering. The 'Kit Support' appear to be that it will include poster
maps and similar, tokens and some Award Cards of some kind as a
participation prize.

While the Kit will include pregens (the adventure is for levels 1-4 with
an implied characters are 1st level but not required). Players may bring
their own LFR legal characters to play.

YES, you can play your LFR Characters, however since this is a Pre-Final
Playtest your characters wont actually earn XP/Gold/Certs for this
adventure. Players get a 'Tentative Reward Card' as a participation
prize. It wont be offical for public use yet as the wording is not 100%
final. You however get a chance to have your thoughts and opinions be
heard by filling out the survey and commenting on the materials.

If your interested in Participating and have not yet sent me an e-mail
saying so, please do so as soon as possible. I have 2 full tables right
now and will be getting enough materials for up to 4 tables. I hope to
be prepared to handle 3 tables buf if I need to get a 4th judge I need
to know ahead of time based on the amount of interest. If you've stated
your interest and changed your mind after this e-mail let me know, if
you have not stated your interest and want to participate, e-mail me.

the Event is to be held at Battleforge at 1:00, this coming Sunday
(October 4th). The event will run for aprox. 4 hours.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Referee registration is still open. We will consider only miniature
games at this point and Saturday morning sessions are now filled with
games. There are a few tables still available during the other time
slots with Friday evening having an entire room empty since the Field of
Glory tournament will not be using that room until Saturday.

Greetings all,

wondering if anyone is interested in playing MINI1-1 Stirring the Embers
tomorrow? it's a 1-4 lvl mod but it is a two rounder. i know it's short notice
but I do have a DM willing to run it tomorrow. As far as players, it's just me
so we'd need at least 3 more to make a table. we're looking to start around 9
or 10 AM as it is an 8 hr mod.

being that its so short notice, if people can really commit to playing an 8 hr
mod, my DM is willing to run a regular mod (MOON1-1)

if you are interested, then email me off list asap?

thanks,

eddie
