The Tyranids ala Warhammer 40k are by far probably the scareiest of the
baddiest. They have pyschic powers; are insect like in that they have a hive
mind; and are just plain oogly. They have different levels of warriors.
There is you're classic ripper swarms/ hermagaunts/ termagaunts who use
fangs and claws to attack. Genestealers to steal and munipulate alien DNA.
Warriors and Carnefexes who are much larger than the others and can use
ranged bioweapons. Hive Tyrants to command swarms of troops. And the piaz de
resistaunce, the Biotitan.. basically Cloverfield with bioweapons only there
isn't just one. A large enough horde of Tyranid can even have more than one
of these beasties. Demonic, insectlike, super monsters with pyschic powers.
If I had to face them with just kevlar and an assualt rifle, I'd be out and
out terrified.
