Description

A group for the discussion and development of Neil Thomas's wargames rules, as published in his books "Wargaming: An Introduction", "Ancient and Medieval Wargaming" (hence "AMW"), "Napoleonic Wargaming" and "Wargaming Nineteenth Century Europe". These books provide simple, fast-playing but satisfying systems for using model soldiers to refight battles from the ancient world up to the Second World War. Neil's books are available from Sutton Publishing at www.suttonpublishing.co.uk or from Amazon at www.amazon.co.uk

This site will include additions and development ideas for the rules, plus the author's answers to rules queries.

Neil Thomas, the rules author, has not sanctioned this group and is not expected to take part.

Re: Archer question
I've played quite a few games using the AMW Rules. Archers have never been the decisive factor in any of my games but they do allow the force to soften up

Re: Archer question
Thinking straight off the yop of my head I wonder if limiting arcs of fire may be a partiakl answer. If massed archers can for instance only fire straight
