Shelly / Rob:
Appreciate your return phone call last Wednesday.
You asked me to e-mail you my needs to run Aerodrome 1.1. Needs are as follows:
1. A covered space not affected by changing weather conditions;
2. a table surface 6 ft x 10 ft (4 ea. 21/2ft x 6ft folding tables) with
3. a continuous, main stream flow of people for game exposure / participation.
Aerodrome 1.1 is a game. Stan Kubiak owns the rights and has improved the original which was first introduced at a gaming convention in 1994. It exemplifies what WW I air combat was: simple, intense, deadly. Distance is represented by hexes: altitude by increments on a Radio Shack five tier car antenna; and, time by the patience of the Game Master. Each player is provided a 1/72 scale WW I aircraft; a stand, a control panel on which he / she plots fire, maneuver, and altitude; dice; wooden pegs; and,spent .22 caliber casings. Rules are easily learned, no record keeping required. The game is run in a series of turns of three increments each, controlled by the GM. Game ends at the discretion of the GM and a new game starts. Those “killed” yield seats to bystanders who wish to play. The game can be played with as few as two but is best with a full compliment of 10 or 12 as tempo and enthusiasm depend on group participation and mass psychology. It can get noisy with a crowd!
Best wishes to you both,
Hal Dyson
