Hi guys,

I'm looking for a dozen to 20 WWII Adler Russians with SMGs (from
their "S1A - Soviet Desant (Mechanized inf) inf armed with SMG" pack).
Anyone
have some spares? I'm happy to pay for them or trade them for other
Adler Russians or Germans.

Thanks!
Koen

Okay, it's only a small sensation..

In a bid to stave off the End of the World as We Know It, the UK
Government has deemed that the rate of VAT should be reduced from
17.5% to 15%. I've been gamely working on this for the last couple of
days and I'm now glad to be able to say that the change in rate has
been applied across the board. Now is the time come and get those
wonderful bargains!

For those of you who aren't resident in the EU there is no real
change, apart from the fact that now is a good time to buy in terms of
exchange rates as the UK£ does a graceless swallow dive into the deep
end of the exchange rate pool.

One set of prices do have to go up. I'm afraid that there are price
increases on most of the scenic items. These should have been put in
place back in the Summer, but I'm no longer able to hold them off and
now seemed as good a time as any to get them up. This is only on these
items supplied to us from Timecast.

I suppose that it's now the time to remind all and sundry about our
handy Baccus Gift Vouchers. These are very useful things at this time
of the year and just the ticket for relatives who are stuck for what
to go get you and don't really fancy doing a crash course on the
intricacies of 6mm wargaming.

More details can be found on the Baccus site.

Finally for today, just a reminder to all of those in the North of
England that this coming Saturday, we'll be attending our final show
of the year at Recon in Pudsey. All stock will be at the new super-low
post-VAT slashing prices, so come along and help myself and Igor as we
try and earn a crust or two for Christmas. We'll also have the
Leipzig-Lite game with us and that's worth the entry fee by itself.

Cheers

Peter

Hi All,

Some may remember my occasional posting about some modular terrain
I've been working on for a few years - specifically aimed at my
chosen scale - 6mm gaming.

Well, I'm running out of resin at the moment and decided to see if I
could sell some of it to offset the cost of the next batch - the
resulting auctions have just been put up on eBay.

Head on over and have a look if you're vaguely curious. I'm obviously
not able to say on the auctions that I'd rather sell to people off
eBay, where they don't take their cut, then take another cut for
Paypal just for good measure - but I can point it out here!

(Of course, I'd like the auctions to sell as well - now that eBay has
taken money off me for listing them.)

More pictures available on request and I'll write long, rambling
emails in reply to all that care to contact me.

Mitch.

Leva Productions used to carry a V-1 site. Raiden Miniatures is close to
having one done as well, should be out in the Feb time frame.

Hi Kieran,

I have the Leva Productions copy of the V-1 site. it's a very nice
model kit, comes with a couple of V-1's in flying mode and 2 with
folded wings.

The kit is made from resin and thus very fragile, espeicially the
missiles themselves.

Rumour has it that the production line was picked by some one some
where in Manitoba, Canada. I'm not sure as to what has happened to it
since then. Although some of the 1/300 scale product coming out of
Poland on E-Bay looks suspiciously like ex-Leva product.

Ray, in Calgary.

Alain Levesque, proprietor of Leva, may have some launch sites left, along with
some of his wonderful railway guns.  (I got mine just a couple of weeks ago.)
You might drop him a line at a_levesque_2000@....  Also be sure to check
out his website at www.geocities.com/levaproductions/levamain.html.  He's a
great guy to deal with.

Apparently the masters for those models were sold to a Canadian hobby shop
called Legions IV Hire, which never did anything with them.  (I check their
website occasionally, but there are never any products listed.)  Alain's current
website still contains lots of beautiful accessories for wargamers, 6 mm and
otherwise.

flavia_musto
Send Email Send Email

Hex Creations LLC (www.hexcreations.com) produces scenery items for
1/285th, 1/300th, and 6mm miniatures based upon a four inch hexagon
in either of two styles:

1. A hexagon that is 0.5 inches high and can mate with GHQ's Terrain Maker TM
or:

2. A hexagon that is 0.125 inches high that is usable on the flat tabletop.

All products are individually cast in light tan resin and supplied undecorated
(Hex Creations will decorate the hexes for an additional charge).

Currently, Hex Creations LLC makes 19 separate items in each style encompassing
roads, railways, hazardous terrain, agricultural, and forests.

Prices range from US$2.95 to US$10.95 plus shipping.

A very innovative product is Hex Creation's forest hexagons. In the past,
forests have been represented on the wargame tabletop by individual trees. Hex
Creations's forest is a two piece casting where
the base represents the forest floor and the tree's trunk and the
other casting represents the forest's canopy. Now your forests can
provide cover and concealment, block line of sight and hinder line of
fire.

The forests are available in three different sizes:

1. 100 % (US $10.95 for 0.5 inch hex and US$8.95 for tabletop),
2. 67% (US $8.95/US$6.95), and...
3. 33% (US$6.95/US$4.95) coverage.

Additionally, a straight road hex is available with either both
(US$10.95/US$8.95) or one side (US$8.95/US$6.95) of trees.

All designs are currently available for shipment in 3 to 7 days. Hex
Creation's website is temporary until we can get our final site up
and running. The current website will only accept orders from the
lower 48 states in the US, but customers from outside this area
should contact Hex Creations LLC (info@...) for a work
around.

Hi Paul,

Nah - we're both doing exactly the same type of thing, it's just that
you're using a hex based system and I'm using a square one. (I thought
about it, then decided I couldn't reliably do hex-type masters that
were of a uniform shape.)

You can't put another tile on top of my stuff as the surface is
deliberately uneven, although at the moment I do use freestanding
trees, pending my version of your forest tiles coming through the
master process. (Thankfully I went with a slightly different design to
yours - which is quite an elegant soloution - don't want to be accused
of copying!)

It looks like your thin tiles are roughly 3mm thick? It occurs to me
that with some converter pieces to fill the gaps the two systems could
be used on the same board to some success - you could place your tiles
on top of something 3mm thick to bring them up to the same level as
mine.

Overall it looks like you are further along in the process of bringing
the various tile varieties to production than I am, so I wish you the
best of luck with your new business!

The 12.7mm DShK HMGs with gunner standing comes in the WWII Navwar
Soviet heavy weapons pack. The 14.5mm AA guns in single, twin and quad
configurations come from Scotia. 23mm AA cannon is a bit much for the
truck bed to handle even in a Hummer I think. Hummers come from
either, just can't remember who makes the open-topped one. Will also
fit the 1/285 scale figures. Making Toyota trucks is not actually that
difficult if one is willing to spend a bit of money and have a bit of
patience.
First get some spare truck chassis from GHQ like they make for the
2-ton trucks (any nationality). Cut them in half, and shorten the
chassis to match one that would suit the Toyota. Now get some of that
plastic railway modellers use and cut three shapes in required
numbers: the engine compartment, the cabin and the cargo area (bed).
The sides will go on after the gun/gunner model is added since the
sides may need to be removed. With the 14.5mm weapons they fire out
the side anyway.

Its crude, but so are the real things.

Cheers
Greg

Competition is good it keeps manufacturers on their toes, and keeps prices
competetive and or justified for the quantity/quality sold for the price stated.

Keep up the good work gents:O)

CinC makes Hummers of many kinds and I bet they have an open-topped model that
would serve your purpose.

Hi

Timecast make a pack "6/005 20th Century Industrial Accessories" but most
of the pieces are too large and I doubt the would fit in the back of a
toyota model (Some pieces would be fine for larger trucks).

Another option is to get some plastic rod and cut it into small pieces.
You could also "turn" it using a dremel or a drill and file some grooves
into it.

Cheers
Kieran

Also check out architecture model providers - they have a scale of
pick-up trucks that could be of great use to you. I think i looked it
up once before and posted tot he list a few years ago. Regardless it
shouldn't be that difficult to find some.

PS Went back and found it - read the whole thing...
