I did up a Zulu & British set for Sword & the Flame using Baccus 6mm
miniatures. I based them on 1cm Magnetic bases (round for Zulus, square
for British) that I had done custom from Litko. I then substitute
centimeters for inches on all measurements. Baccus makes up some very
nice miniatures for the Zulu Wars, the Sudan, & Boer War in their range
presently.
