Oh and of course there's Beth's (my wife and light of my life) Daleks,
their 6mm too. Better not forget them :)

Also there's a picture of some GZG 6mm Bugs under the Bugs and X-fools
section.

Cheers

I have to go to work now but I haven't forgot the rest of you that I
didn't get to yet.

If you want to be unmoderated (all humans, humanoids, and non-spambot
non-humanoids qualify) just e-mail me, post a message (hence showing
me you are 'real' - I guess that is the term) or contact any of the
moderators who you know and we will fix that. I have set up
a "respond to" type message for the newbies (I think) that will
hopefully help them get to unmoderated status ASAP.

Dude! You have RIVETs minis! I have a bunch as well. By any
chance, do you have two Dive Boppers that you can part with? I have
extras (by extra, I'm building complete counter sets from the game,
and have more of most types than I need - especially LBs!) of most
everything else.

Please let me know!

Thanks,

Technically FASA made the Game "Centurion" as part of their "Renegade
Legion: games and Universe. The miniatures were first made by C-C
minis, and then lisenced to Ral Partha. When Whiz-Kids bought Partha
the lisence reverted to C-C (who now makes them again. You can order
them through the C-C web-site).

I was going to reply on the other message but since it was seconded, I
have no problem with this.

This is an experiment on my part (Yes, I want it to succeed; yes, I want
other moderators and/or list owners - I could drop dead tomorrow - on
this list - hadn't asked since we are so small currently.) Anyone else
want to be a moderator?

Anyone (I think) can add links in the links section - I intended that as
members you have the necessary permissions to fill links folders, add
pictures, etc., as you see fit (sub folders are welcome if you think
it's appropriate.) I was certainly thinking to add the GZG, Brigade
Models, Adler, H&R/Navwar SF links as appropriate but all other are
certainly welcome. If the link is not 6 mm oriented please consider
putting it in a sub folder for 2, 10, 15, 20, 25/28 mm or other scale
figures labeled as such for organization's sakes. Ditto for pictures
although a link to the appropriate 6_mm list folder (or other list
folders) also works (or at least should...) if it already exists
elsewhere and avoids too much duplication. Pictures DO take space...

I can import the links but I might not get to it for a few days due to
family commitments over the week-end. So, if anyone else is 'bored'
(LOL, with all that lead to paint?) feel free to act independently.
<grin>

I think of this as 'our list' not just mine. Being Owner is just a
responsibility, not a divine right. A responsibility I volunteered for I
admit so I shan't complain it means a few hours moving links and
"moderating." My wife might, but that's my problem. <VBG>

Gracias,
Glenn

Yes, the GZG games bill themselves as "near" future. The idea was
that the units etc. would be recognizable as natural growth from
existing military formations etc.

I do not mind other races/aliens. I just want some that feel like
more then humans in masks. I dislike when they go and make everything
the in the alien force look like it came from a US Mech Infantry
TO&E.

Some of the best Alien work comes from the effect of their play
style. Take the Bugs (Tyranid) from Epic 40k. They play very
different from the "Human" armies. Different set up, organization,
and in order to win with them you must use different tactics.

Iron Cow is set in the early 22nd century (their full title is Iron Cow
2103). The setting is similar to the DS2 / SG2 / FT universe (Steve
Blease helped in the initial development of the GZG timeline)

There are post apocalypse rules settings. There are near future
rules settings (that's a 'fluid term...) and I expect there must
be 'far future' settings rules too.

So if 40K/Epic (40,000 AD or some such IIRC) is far future, would
Dirtside/Stargrunt/Full Thrust be 'near' future? IIRC, Starguard
(not 6 mm of course) was set in the 'near future' period. How about
Iron Cow? The various FFOT related rules are spread from the 1800's
to ???

What are you preferred settings? Human-centric? Earth expansion?
Aliens only? Distant galaxy ("What's an 'Earth'? I'm from Galdor

Very much marketed as fast play rules, so fairly straightforward and yes, lethal to infantry (deliberately so). IGO-UGO. Intended for larger forces than (eg) DS2 - the example units are in the region of 60-70 vehicles in size and our army packs contain 30-40 vehicles.

Refresh my memory on these.  Are they IGO-UGO or alternate movement?
Are they as deadly to infantry as I have heard remarked?  Are they
comapny oriented, bigger forces. Smaller forces?

I know, well I 'remember' might be more accurate, (never seen, read,
played them) that Irregular has 6 mm rules for SF.

I don't know if Adler has any rules for this genre (or rules of any
kind) although I like the pictures of their SF figures (despite the
heads issue.) If you played 6 and 25 mm games you could use Denizen
for the latter and Adler for the former.

I doubt Scotia bothers with rules. Many manufacturers just bonus off
other comapnies/individuals rules.

Glenn,

I am willing to come over for a "swim" and see how it goes. I am only
interested in 6mm Sci-Fi and not the rest, so I hope this does do
well.

Just as a side note, do you know there is already a very good site
for 6 mm that does cover Sci-Fi already here on Yahoo. It is ran by
maksimsmelchak. Here is the link:

http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/6mm_Miniatures/

Just a heads up.

In any case, should be interesting.

I know there is Epic (in it's various forms), Dirtside, Battletech,
Ogre (Out of Print), Fist Full of Games has a couple, and Centurion
(Out of Print). These are the ones I know about.

What others are there?
