Hhhmmmnnn......
Sounds like it might. I suppose it would be possible
to have an "upper board" that pieces can jump up to,
but have to drop back down from on the following turn.
There could be stairs or ramps or even fireman poles
connecting several levels, and pieces can move down
faster than they can move up. Even if the piece is
assumed to represent some athletic pole-climbing
specialist, he can probably slide down the pole faster
than he can climb up the pole.
I'm going to work on this a bit.
