What strange monkey business are you preventing? As best I can tell,
you're just forcing the FNM to spend 20 more on a train. That said, I
can't imagine why the FNM president wouldn't want a 2 train, unless
someone else was foolish enough to buy 2 shares on the first stock
round.
Does anyone have the actual text of this rule? We are having a discussion, because someone did the FNM dump trick but created the Mountain in Monte Generoso,...
if i recall, that's not true. you MUST run the company's trains for their optimal revenue regardless of what actions are involved. to be sure, is this 1844? ...

... As Chris Shaffer pointed out, there is only one optional rule in 1844: Elephant priority. Maybe you're talking about a variant created by someone other...
OK, here's the thing: as with so many other products of germanophone origin, the 1844 rules translation in the initial kit was not altogether a model of...
The only 1844 optional rule of which I am aware is the Elephant priority, which appears at the end of the rulebook. -- Chris Please consider the environment...

It's the same sort of "strange monkey business" that has just consumed an endless time discussing it in 1835: the 1844 equivalent of building BY in a big...
Ah, I see. I guess the reason I didn't think of it is because I've never seen anyone buy two shares of FNM. If nothing else, why wouldn't you wait until SR2,...
<shrug> FNM can be a pretty good company. I've seen plenty of games where the guy who owned it cruised to victory: I've even been that guy a couple of times...
I didn't mean nobody owned it, I meant there wasn't a second investor until SR2. Thus, there shouldn't be anyone vulnerable to the dump you described. -- ...
... The way I have seen this happen (twice) is that the FNM private owner bought other privates/shares and can't defend FNM. Someone else takes it over yet...
Hi Everyone, A while ago there was some griping on this about how the TGA runs the 18XX tournament at Gencon, Origins and Railcon. Here is what we do now: ...
