From what I understand Lance from JTF600 has the Hawk battery on his "to do"
list and already makes the SA-2 Launcher with Fan Song Radar. Robert

The price will even be quite reasonable. Mind you he has problems delivering
these days somebody sank his ship.

Both sides? I don't see the Crotale listed there, nor the Roland 2. Perhaps I
should have gone to Specsavers. :-))

Ah yes, I agree that SAM's would be very nice, especially if they include them
for both sides, e.g.:
SA-2's
SA-3's
SA-4's
SA-5's
SA-6's
HAWK on trailer
Rapier
Bloodhound
Nike
Nike-Zeus
Looking forward to the Eurofighters as well.
OK I am on a roll, so how about SAM's, ducks behind sandbags.

But the splinter camo scheme is so cool! (and there was company artwork portraying the JAS 39 in the splinter scheme at least...)

Gripens are painted in two tone grey over grey, not the splinter scheme. Similarly, most JaktViggens had an air superiority grey scheme (with kind of a blueish gray).

I completely agree! We do the same thing with the box-miniatures in Birds of
Prey, using camouflage on the AJ and grey on the JA. It is hard to tell the two
types apart (even at full size), so using the most representative scheme is the
best differentiation mechanism.
Will you be doing any silver Viggens?
I'm sorry if my previous answers came across as argumentative. (Email often
doesn't convey tone well.) The Birds of Prey team did a bunch of research on the
Viggen schemes about a year ago, down to selecting Pantone colors to match both
schemes. I learned a fair amount during the process!
Cheers,
Phil

There is this drawing at Wings Palette with a "what if?" JAS39 Grippen id the "Splinter" Camo. It states,
"Unit: F13 'Bråvalla' Flygflottilj Serial: 13/41 This seems as an artists impression of how the Gripen could have looked during service at the F13 'Bråvalla' Flygflottilj in Norrköping. Remark: F13 Wing stopped flying last June 1993 and was closed down a year later. Gripen entered air force service in 1997."

I am a silent lurker on the BoP group mate that's were I saw the news story.
Not a big fan of the rules, I like games quick and dirty rather than technical.
But there's a lot of very knowledgeable people on the group, and the Air Power
one, so I try to keep an eye on them. Glad to here that everything was OK. I
will try and post pics of the various SAABs once they are done.

As they say in the houses of parliment, I refer the gentleman to my previous
answer. I thought that more of the Viggens were used in the splinter camo but
stand correctted. Mine will be used for 1980ish type scenarios and its an easy
way to tell the AJ and JA variants apart at a glance.

Wow, that article got around! (You can catch my wife and son on some of the
local TV news, which might be available on the internet.)
My house is on a little rise, so we aren't having problems with the mud. A
couple of neighbors now have a yard full of mud and got a bit of water in the
house. It could have been considerably worse! Hopefully this will spur those at
risk to increase their protection against the mud, as this problem is expected

Can you provide an image of an in-service Gripen in splinter? I can't find any
and don't recall ever seeing one.
The Gripen is decidedly multirole, so most should be tasked for air-to-mud as
well as air-to-air. Most air-to-ground work is done up high with PGMs at this
point, protecting the fighter from AAA and pop-up SAM threats, so I would expect
the paint to reflect the higher altitude operations.
Jaktviggen paint is splinter for the first batch or three (around thirty or
forty aircraft) before being shifted to gray... so it is not tied directly to
role.
